ESPN's Prophetic Rondo Article Published On 4/8

It could be a marriage of two beautiful, competitive basketball minds playing together with best case scenario being a loss in the second round of the playoffs or it could be a complete and total dumpster fire with another trip to the lottery. I'd rather they go get D'Angelo Russell, let him soak up some Kobe and move on. Russell is already ahead of the Rondo curve anyways.

Kobe's been recruiting him to LA for a while now. That should be an interesting combination.

To play for Kobe as a coach? Kobe is done playing any meaningful basketball!

On a somewhat related note, Simmons spent a good deal of time discussing Rondo in his Friday mailbag column. Played around with the State Farm "twins" ad campaign and decided there must be a Rick Rondo out there somewhere, possibly in the porn industry.

If by interesting you mean a train wreck, then yes.

No way the mamba is done yet. He's got another year or two left in those old bones. Just needs someone that is willing to compete as hard as him- something a lot of these younger guys can't/won't do.

It's Rondo that I'm worried about. He stinks.

This...Rondo is a tough guy to get along with but more importantly, he is not that good any more. He depends on explosiveness since he never was a good shooter and he lost some of that with his injury. A guard that barely shoots 31% from the FT line? Who wants that on their team?

Rondo and Lin can both fade away. The Lakers need to focus on the future of Jordan Clarkson. Rondo is a headache and he's done. Kobe is just about done. Bringing in Rondo does nothing but ruin any chance at Westbrook in 2017. No way Rondo is going to pay attention to anything Randle says.

Not really saying that he's going to go to him for advice or anything, just that as two type-A's, they'd probably enjoy playing together. I really think Rondo wants to win above all else. Putting him in a backcourt with a ball-stopper like Monta Ellis probably wasn't a very good idea in hindsight.

Kobe has been referred to as a ball stopper as well. I'm hearing the Laker front office is "torn" over whether or not to add Rondo. They better let him go......

Kobe is a bit more talented than Monta Ellis. He is also far more level headed (or at least he wouldn't wreck a scooter and show to a team doctor with road rash and a broken leg and say he did it playing pickup).

Mavs have voted to NOT give Rondo a playoff share.

True, but history shows Kobe isn't the easiest to play with. I'm not sold their personalities will mesh properly but I could be wrong. I still hope we don't have to find out.

After reading this article, it reminds me of Randy Moss...one those enigmatic figures that gets a bad wrap... but who a lot of people really enjoyed playing with.

Rondo needs to go to a franchise who has a solid coach and a culture of excellence... I would love to see him play for Pop and the Spurs...

I remember thinking when Randy Moss went to New England, that would never work... boy was I wrong.
