All BGP Team Discussion

Oh and let's not forget this exact duo took their team to the elite 8 last year too...

Are you basing "BEST" off talent, college offers, production, or etc??? If it is off of production, the proof is in the pudding... Not saying the other duos aren't good as well, but I am saying that big names don't impress me as much as overall production... From an Offensive and "Defensive" standpoint, this duo has to be considered one of the top. They led their high school team that had no "True" post player to the State Championship game knocking out one or two of the aforementioned duos. A real basketball enthusiast can see past the stats and hype of other duos...

Production from this year. No true post player? BG made it as far as they did in the Sweet 16 because of Kyran Jones and Terry Taylor dominating down low. BG will be one of the best teams in the state next year because of Kyran Jones and Terry Taylor. BG didn't beat Boyle County because of Sine and Carothers. They beat Boyle County because of Jones, Taylor and Wilson. And nobody on BG stopped Bell or Tyler. They stopped the rest of Boyle County. If anything Deangelo Wilson was the unsung hero at guard for BG.

It's so awesome to see you waving that Purple and Gold flag though!!!!!! PURPLES!!!!!!

I edited your post Clyde.

We can all talk about who we would add but no negatives or I would replace this player on the BGP list with comments.

I disagree with this stance. I understand not wanting to disrespect someone, but it's hard to have a discussion if you can't list pros and cons of the list.

Would this also mean someone can't say Player A should be player of the year, because that means they are saying that player should be replacing the player selected in that capacity?

Any chance this team can beat Indiana in the summer all-star games? I think it's been quite a while.

Junior team played well this past summer against the Indiana juniors without a few players so it will be interesting for sure. I think the big issue is having a roster that usually consists of 15 players....give me the 10 best and let's see what happens.

James Bolden

Cam Justice

Jalen Perry

David Simmons

Jaqualis Matlock

Dwayne Sutton

Evan Hall

Drew McDonald

Ray Spalding

Aric Holman (assuming he's eligible with taking the prep route)

Eljay Cowherd/Hagen Tyler/Jeremiah Bell/Terrell Gray as possible alternates.

Go with the following two platoons:

Bolden

Perry

Sutton

Hall

Spalding

Justice

Simmons

Matlock

McDonald

Holman

Both groups would be tough.

I saw Jalen Perry last night. He was honored to be BGPs player of the year! He was unaware that he was chosen. You best believe I let him know that it was quite an honor! When it comes to high school basketball, BGP stands alone.

Interesting that McDonald isn't mentioned on the original list, but now he is on the the team you want playing against Indiana.

Not sure if that was directed toward me or not, but I wasn't apart of the "committee" that chose this All BGP team.

I absolutely want McDonald as one of the 12-15 players that will be selected to play against Indiana's best and IMO is one of the 10 best seniors in the state.

His success in the EYBL last summer speaks for itself.

Not directed at you at all. Bad choice of pronoun saying "you". Guess I'm just a little confused that "the Committee" thinks there are 10 better players than him in the state. Your statement about the EYBL hits the nail on the head. And before someone jumps me with "Who would you remove" I'm not getting into that. Just my opinion that he is one of the 10 best seniors in the state.

Courier-Journal team I take it is listed as highest number of votes listed first? Voted by coaches?

Congratulations to all the kids who made any and all the lists. Even an honorable mention is something to be extremely proud of.

I feel the same way about Jeremiah Bell.
