Seems to be all quite on the Tomcat front, which to me is worrisome. Here's to hoping something breaks soon.

Are they required to post the job for so many days?

I believe so.

Yeah but they could "unofficially" hire someone though. Maybe they're having trouble honestly?

Coaching jobs aren't required to be posted unless it's an individual board policy

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been a decision made on hiring a new head coach. One would have to believe there are a number of good coaches interested in this position. I would be surprised if a young coach is selected for this position. I just see Ashland as a job that would go with a coach that has some head coaching experience! Of course I'm not in the loop so I don't know.

If there was an "unnoficial" hiring I doubt there would be much word of it. There have been reports if qualified candidates applying for the job, so I doubt that there is a lack of interest. The season JUST ended folks. In makes sense for the school to give interested coaches time to apply and then take their own time to review all candidates thoroughly before making such a big decision. Given the current state of the program I myself would encourage the decision makers to take their time and hire the best candidate possible. After last season it makes no sense to rush into this and hire the first guy that applies or the first person they had in mind.

I've heard that Evan Faulkner is being looked at as a possibility.

His name has been mentioned. I even think they spoke with him early March.

I would think the Ashland faithful fans are starting to get a little concerned with the hiring process. If some of the talk on here is true, some good coaches have not expressed interest in the job. I am sure there are other good coaches out there interested. My question is will some of those good coaches shy away from the job because they are down the list?

E.Faulkner would be terrific.

Ethan Faulkner is the correct Faulkner.

Pretty young to be handed the head coaching job at Ashland

Young? You mean, too young?
