March 31, 201511 yr How sweet is Stevens celtics deal? I know they are playing with a skeleton crew and a bunch of upcoming draft picks. He may have a UK SQUAD after this year's draft.
March 31, 201511 yr A. Young enough to do 8-10 years. B. Personable, hard working recruiter. C. Savvy and tough enough to handle the media and the pressure without being a crusty jerk like Jim Calhoun etc... Exactly. Focus on the person and not on the record. The bad coaches were a bad fit and never worked out. I was a UK student went Eddie Sutton was there. He was not personable, bad background and destroyed the program. I also heard he had to have a driver cart him around. You really need an ambassador with a good support staff.
March 31, 201511 yr And the biggest plus of all... He is a staunch Democrat. So I put him a rung higher. I knew there was something not quite right about Hall. Thanks for clearing that up. :lol2:
April 1, 201511 yr What about Sean Miller's brother at Dayton? He seems to get quite a bit of overachieving from his teams. But he's probably not ready for the prime time. UK's job is unique in that the hire not only has to be someone who knows the game inside and out and is a great recruiter, but also someone who is at the top of the game in dealing with public relations, dealing with the media and all the extras that encompass the UK program. It's not easy. It chewed Eddie Sutton up and spit him out. BCG the same. It takes a strong willed personality to handle the Kentucky job. Someone that can handle the pressure and not allow it to beat them down. Someone like John Calipari.
