What's Going on with Xavier's Jalen Reynolds?

Xavier investigates complaint against Jalen Reynolds

Forward Jalen Reynolds is accompanying Xavier to Los Angeles for its Sweet 16 game while the school looks into a complaint filed against him by another student.

Coach Chris Mack said on Tuesday that the sophomore will play against second-seeded Arizona on Thursday night. Reynolds had a career-high 21 points in a win over Georgia State that sent the Musketeers to their fifth Sweet 16 appearance in the last eight years.

A student filed the complaint against Reynolds with the school's police department overnight Monday. It'll take several weeks to look into it. The university said it can't disclose the nature of the complaint because of student privacy laws.

The NCAA Tournament game matches Xavier coach Chris Mack and close friend Sean Miller, who left the Xavier job to move to Arizona. Mack was his top assistant at Xavier.

Chris Mack addresses Jalen Reynolds complaint, Arizona

Xavier coach Chris Mack met today with the media to talk about Arizona and Thursday's Sweet 16 game in Los Angeles. He also addressed a complaint against Jalen Reynolds. The forward traveled with the team and will play against the Wildcats.

Here's a transcript of that session:

What is Jalen Reynolds' status?

CM: What I would tell you is I can confirm there's been a report that was filed with the university, but after the initial findings, at least from the university's standpoint, there's been no status change with the students involved, none. And so it's going to take a four to five week investigation to figure out what exactly happened, and that's all I'm going to say about that. I will tell you that Jalen will be traveling with team, Jalen will be playing just like every other player on our team, will be on that plane and will be expected to play.

Word is that it is NOT related to a sexual assault.

Not sure other than that.

Sounds like he got caught with his hand in the wrong cookie jar and the main chick was none to happy about it. Argument ensued, got loud, but nothing physical...

Ding ding ding. The only physical contact, post-coital, was him separating the Jerry Springer audition occurring in his dorm room.

I look forward to seeing his progression. Plenty of cookie jars when you have his potential.

Consuming too many cookies often leads to problems.

How do you know? :D

I present Jalen Reynolds as exhibit A. :D

And @Watusi belly as exhibit B. :lol2:

Hell hath no fury..............

(I'm wondering if the Chris Jones episode at UL might some elements of this in it, too. I don't know one way or the other-----just wondering.)
