Gurkhas are like playing Russian roulette. I've had some truly good ones, and some have been among the worst I've ever smoked. The problem is there is just so many of them. On the other hand, there's always a deal to be had, so you never have to pay full price, which is usually super high. I've been burnt several times though, enough that I wont buy them regardless of how good the price is.

 

I guess I've had better luck. The Park Avenues I got, from the deal coldweatherfan posted, were good, especially for a $2.20 cigar.

I've always found the Park Avenue to be a real good mild cigar.

 

I've also had a few bad Gurkhas too, but the ones that I have liked, I have liked every time. I think maybe they are trying to do too many styles.

Got on my mower and pulled out a big H. Upmann 1844 Reserve Churchill. Drank a couple of Old Style too.

 

Finished mowing about 10 minutes before the rain came.

Good time to throw a few sticks in the humidor.

Mowed yesterday.

 

Enjoyed a nice Alec Bradley American Classic Robusto and a couple of Rolling Rocks.

 

The only thing that makes mowing tollerable is a good smoke.

I'm going to be in Ybor for a seminar on Thursday evening, just a few blocks from King Corona and Nicahabana Cigars. May just drop in and pick up a couple of hand rolled perfectos while I'm there.

Cigar rolling is one craft that hasn't changed much over the years.

 

Pretty much do it the same way they did 100 years ago.

The Tabanero was good, but it burned unevenly. That may have been because of my humidor, though.

Had an Angelenos by Fuente and Wathen's Single Barrel neat. Both were excellent.

I had another of those Tabeneros Friday night. This time it burned evenly. Finished off my bottle of Blanton's, too.
