What new cigars or bourbon have you had recently? What are some of your favorite pairings of cigars and bourbon?

I've been kind of boring lately and haven't had much more then Romeo y Juliet cigars. I do have a Cohiba Red Dot that I think I'm going to have this week end. On the bourbon end, only had Blanton's recently after finishing my Old Rip VanWinkle last month. I need to go shopping.

I've not had a cigar at all since before Thanksgiving. Really unfortunate.

As far as bourbon: I had Colonel Taylor Barrel-Proof for the first time last weekend. Too strong for me but a nice flavor for that concentration.

I recently tried and enjoyed the W.L. Weller 12 year.

I had some Weller recently and liked it. But, I have to say that I was a little disappointed because people had built it up to be so much like VanWinkle. If I wasn't expecting it to taste like VanWinkle I think I would have liked it more. But, all in all a good bourbon.

I've had Taylor, but not the barrel proof.

I had some Knob Creek Single Barrel recently, and really enjoyed it. It's very good, but has a bit of a kick, and I had to add a couple splashes of water to tone the heat of 120 proof down. I also bought a bottle of Big House bourbon. Under $20, only a 6 year, but very solid. Just enough of everything to be interesting and very drinkable.

I don't smoke a ton of cigars in the winter, and I don't think I've had one since November. I recently bought some Drew Estate Kentucky Fire Cured sticks and will be firing one of those up when it starts getting warmer at night. I typically buy cigars all through December and January and let them rest a bit before starting my stogie smoking in the late spring.

I like Knob Creek, haven't had any in a while. Never had Big House, you say you like it?

Haven't had Drew Estate in a while either. You've given me some things to add to my shopping list.

I do like Bighouse, especially for the price. It's a little rough around the edges (it's only aged 6 years) but it has a nice spice and enough complexity to make up for not being so refined. It's heavy on the Rye, (I like Rye forward bourbons) so if you are not a fan of Rye, it may not be for you. Definitely worth trying, and I'll probably keep some around.

Been on an Olive binge lately for a nice light wrapper. Spent the winter smoking bolder LFD's and Joya De Nicaragua's.

Have not had Weller 12 but enjoy the baseline Weller. Did not enjoy Angel's Envy.

I have a cigar about every Saturday night. Sometimes with a bourbon, ususally Woodford neat, sometimes not.

Last weekend I skipped the bourbon and the cigar was an Alec Bradley American Classic robusto. OK, but not my favorite.
