June 29, 201511 yr Had a Rocky Patel Connecticut and Woodford, last night. Friday night was a Gurkha Park Avenue and hard cider. (There's a story behind the hard cider, but it's long and leads nowhere. Just suffice it to say I couldn't change up at that point in the evening.)

July 5, 201511 yr I've tried a few new releases. Camacho, Gordo Barrel Aged, last week, a very tasty stick but $10 sticks aren't in my daily rotation. They stack 2,000 pounds of Nicaraguan wrapper into bourbon barrels while aging for five years. I guess it's not a cheap one to produce. I enjoyed it. Tonight a Perdomo Caft Series, Amber. These are to be paired with craft beers. I must say a great stick for sub $5. You pair this one with ambers, lagers and pale ales, IPAs. Tons of flavor, grapefruit, cream, leather, cherry to name a few. I highly recommend. They also have a Connecticut/ Pilsner and a Maduro/Stout.

July 5, 201511 yr A friend of mine brought me a hand rolled cigar from the Keys last week. It had no brand, but used an alternate leaf wrapper and was on the small side, about the size of a Black and Mild without the plastic tip. It was pretty good. I also smoked a Vegas Gold No. 5 I got in that deal from CI with the humidor. I wasn't bad either. No bourbon this weekend. Friday was beer and last night I was drinking "legal" moonshine.
July 6, 201511 yr Sitting on the back deck of our beach house in gulf shores enjoying a Yuengling and a J. Fuego Corojo Oscuro. Pretty good smoke.

July 7, 201511 yr Tried the Cuba Libre out of the sampler on Friday night, and the 5 Vegas last night. Enjoyed the Cuba Libre. The 5 vegas was ok but probably not something I will go with again. I pick up the Cuba Libres quite often when they are on special. Did a bunch of beach stuff all week, and while I do love a stogie out on the beach, it's usually not the place I pull out my best quality. I had picked up two bundles of 20 Don Jesus for $10.18 a piece figuring I'd be passing a bunch around. They went over big out on the beach with my son and all his buddies playing corn hole. They're not great, but they're not awful. They smoke good, just not a lot of personality.

July 8, 201511 yr That is a good smoke. I tried a mild A.J Fernandez Connecticut last weekend on the golf course and really enjoyed it. Also had some Old Forrester bourbon mixed with Diet Snappel Peach Tea. Great summer drink especially with some frozen peaches mixed in. Now that you showed me the Broadleaf it will be my go to tinight at the club. Jungle Jim's in Eastgate is a great place with very good prices and Chris knows his cigars. My hometown store is Party Source but once a month a may venture up that way and pickup a handful of sticks.
July 13, 201511 yr Last Wednesday I had a Arturo Fuente Hemingway at Ruby's Elixir and Cigar Bar on Central Avenue in St. Pete. Saturday, I had one of my Gurkha Park Avenues to end the day. No bourbon, but both days I had too much of that Cream and Sugar porter from Cycle Brewery.

No bourbon, but both days I had too much of that Cream and Sugar porter from Cycle Brewery. I like Ruby's. We went there after the Sundy Best show a few weeks ago. Nothing fancy this week end. Saturday smoked a Bahia Trinidad and drank a couple of Old Styles while I mowed. Sunday was a Torano Noventa and a couple of Guinness on the front porch watching the rain.
