So where would you put those three in the top 10 and what teams would you remove/downgrade to make room for their placement?

with this being a pre preseason poll and Dixie coming out id list lafayette up around 5 or 6 ish just because of all the scholarship offers and hype which is really what theses types of polls go on just clay and station i believe will be better teams in the long run

Lafayette and all their D1 players couldn't stop SK and Dillon Powell.

I know I am a little partial to them, but it would not surprise me to see Cooper make its way into the top 10 this upcoming season. They return 19 of 22 starters and bring back 3 starters that were injured early in the season last year. Their freshman class from this season has some nice athletes coming up that will provide some depth to their team. I also agree SK should make some noise, as well as Ryle. All 3 of those teams will have very nice years in my opinion.

I'm a bit surprised I haven't gotten any flak for putting Male ahead of St. X. The instability in the coaching staff is mainly what prompted it, but I expected to hear more than a few comments arguing otherwise.

 

Also is there any way to alter a comment once someone has replied to it? I'd like to take Dixie Heights out, seeing as how they moved down to 5A.

 

Even with the loss of their QB and a big part of their O-Line Male will still be very talented, maybe the most talent in the state. Their JV QB was very good and their line did an outstanding job. They were a coaches poor judgement away from beating Trinity's JVs this year and I think that was their only JV loss. Wakefield will be back for his senior season and if I'm not mistaken so will their best running back.

 

It once again remains to be seen if they have the "intangibles" to get over the hump. They certainly didn't in 13 and 14.

With the new district set-up and playoff match-ups it's very likely that an NKY team advances to the championship game again in 2015. The only question is can they stay within 30 points of whoever they meet up with? History says it's not likely.

Is Trinity's new district still on the same side of the bracket as the St. X, Male, Manual district? Jeez. At least the semi-final ought to be good. Would be a lot of fun if Simon Kenton was the team to make it from the other side. I can practically envision the uk#1fan threads already. :lol2:

It is. The latest Trinity could meet either X or Male in the playoffs would be the regional championship and then they are likely looking at Scott County in the Semi-state. All the "traditional" powers in 6A are on one side of the bracket. No wonder the NKY 6A folks want to make this set-up permanent.

Which is why Scott County is lobbying the KHSAA with NKY schools to adopt the current set-up permanently. I am resigned to the fact that this is going to happen. Trinity will play the "other" Jefferson County district in the first three rounds before facing the best western Kentucky has to offer in the semi-finals. The irony here is Scott County will fade from the big school conversations once 2017 gets here and the new school is opened. :meh:

Sigh... that is a real disappointment. Is there any lobbying against that? I suspect Trinity and St. X won't say much given that their word won't hold much weight with the KHSAA anyway. However, I would imagine Male and Manual would be unhappy to get permanently stuck with the hardest road to the state finals.

Saw all the other Top 10 threads and thought we needed one for 6A. The following is purely opinion and nobody is obligated to agree. Though, some discussion over the topic would be fun.

I think Dixie drops down to 5A next year,, but I will think Cooper High School needs to be in the discussion, they made the Semi State last year in 5A and are moving up to 6A next season. They have a lot of returning starter coming back. They could make things a little interesting towards the end of the year.

I'm sorry but until they prove otherwise on the field all NKY 6A schools are irrelevant in any discussion of potential championships.

Good thing this thread isn't talking about who will win the 6A championship but who we think will be in the top 10. No one claimed any of the teams will be able to beat Trinity or St. X, but honestly, how could you expect them to?
