They must have found somebody I don't see the position posted on their website.

Carroll County has hired Lee Downey as their head coach. He had previously been a cooridnator at Madison Consolidated High School in Indiana. He was out of coaching the past couple of seasons.

I don't know anything about the guy...why the big reaction?

Grabbing somebody that is in the regional, smart move by Carroll but it may take him a few years to implement his system

Who is this guy?

He has coached at the middle school level and been a coordinator at the high school level. Never been a head coach at any level. He has done all his coaching in Indiana. From the outside looking in this hire is very strange and I believe Carroll County football took a step back with this hire.

To add to what oldschoolcoach already mentioned...one of the reporters from the Madison Courier over in Indiana tweeted about it this morning. Apparently there will be a write-up for the paper.

:idunno:, Para-Pro, with one year high school experieince!!!!! Then was a youth league coach and middle school position coach. Sorry but I had to laugh I think we now know what the problem was at Carroll. If you didn't think the previous staff was any good thats one thing, but you expect to improve with this type of hire....I am aghast.

In the local newspaper the athletic director was quoted to saying he was the best candidate by far. I know for a fact Johnny Poynter was a candidate for this job. I would argue he has better credentials and a proven track record.

Too funny. I see this happening all the time in KY sports, football especially.

This is just one of many peculiar hires over the last 3 years in the commonwealth. There is an epidemic statewide. I think its called "eggheadonomics".:popcorn:
