Most common name in America is Michael Smith.

Best guess

Smith

Jones

Williams

White

Brown

Johnson

Davis

I would think the two most common Mexican surnames and most common Chinese surname might finish up the list but have no idea what those might be.

Can't we leave race out of this. :lol2:

Most common name in America is Michael Smith.

At least it isn't Sam Smith.... then we'd have a song about it.

Kramer/Kremer, Franzen, Seiter, and Schultz must be in there somewhere.

You should visit somewhere not NoKy sometime …:sssh:

You should attend the Miller family reunion they have down at Norris Lake every year.

Probably a thousand of them show up from my home county. I kid, I kid.

Is Kelly not top 10?

Your Irish clowns came in 11. :D

So do we have all the top ten? What about Wilson? I agree with 75center that I thought Jackson would be up there also.

Smith is the most common name in my county. Gabbard is number two. That would be a good discussion thread: What are the top two or three most common names in your county? I went to the voter rolls and the phone book to determine it for Owsley County. Other common names in the county are Barrett, Wilson, Marshall, Bowling, and Baker.

Smith the number one surname in most of the English speaking countries. Originated from the occupation of being a smith---blacksmith, tinsmith, gunsmith, goldsmith, etc.

Kramer/Kremer, Franzen, Seiter, and Schultz must be in there somewhere.

They ALL live in Campbell County! :jump:

6,7, and 10 are Latino names.

9 is a surprise to me.

You're looking at a different list than I am. Latinos are 8 & 9.

By the way, I work with 3 people named Garcia and 2 named Rodriguez. It used to be 3 Rodriguezes, but one married a Jones. :D
