I think Planet Fitness is hiding behind the problem with its "no judgement" stance. No one is judging this transgender person. The concern is what is the appropriate way to handle this situation? They clearly dropped the ball on this. There has to be a way to create a small unisex bathroom.

In addition, I am very surprised that the transgender person wasn't a bit more sensitive to this situation. Someone who has gone through something like that should be very well aware how awkward this situation is. You are only at the gym an hour or so. Can't you schedule your workouts and shower at home?

Isn't there a law against exposing yourself to the opposite sex, regardless of whether it is private property or not?

So I can walk into the Women's locker room at PF, and if someone questions me I can just say I'm feeling a little feminine today and get away with it?

It does appear that way.

Stop acting like you don't already do that every other day.

Yes and some on here are apparently ok with that.

Which is just amazing to me...

Why mess with a winning formula?

I haven't seen anyone say they're okay with it.

Fact is, PF is a private company, and as such has the right to allow this. If they so chose, they could have one big locker room for everyone, regardless of gender. That's within their rights.

If people don't like it, they aren't being forced to give PF their money and business.

The issue I have is with our court system. I am pretty confident that if PF told the guy he could not go into the women's locker room, he could sue and may win. I used to work at a local bank in town where one of the employees (Greg) decided to dress like a woman and became Lisa. He told the Bank that he was going to begin using the women's bathrooms and the Bank agreed to let him! I talked to our HR folks about it because MANY women at the facility were disturbed that he/she could be in the bathrooms when they were. The HR people said they were advised by the Bank's attorneys that they had to let him or he could sue. So in a building with hundreds of people, most women, the women had to adjust so this one selfish moron could get his way.

Please show me where anyone said that. I'll be sitting here not holding my breath until you post it.

FACT is, I think its the stupidest thing I've read this week. You couldn't pay me enough money to even step into a planet fitness before reading this and obviously this stupid policy does nothing to change that. However I will 100% support their right as a private company to make this insanely stupid policy. I think it is more disturbing that anyone is in support of the government telling a private business owner what policies they can and can't have. As long as it is within the law more power to them. The best case scenario is this cause them all of their members and they close the doors. Their a joke anyway.
