A quick look shows at least 10 other places she can go to, and I'm sure more females will leave if they don't change this policy. Unless she really loves those free PF cookies and pizza.

Why does the policy " judgement free zone" extend all the way to the shower/bathroom area. I interpet that to mean the workout area.

 

PF needs to protect the rights of all members not just those with gender issues.

I agree wholeheartedly. A place of business that would allow a man to walk into a woman's locker/shower area wouldn't get one penny of my money. I think it is despicable to allow a man into a woman's locker room. I hope Planet Fitness suffers the fate of going bankrupt for allowing men into women's locker rooms. They wouldn't get my money nor would I recommend anyone going there to work out. I don't get why this is such a polarizing issue. A business has an unacceptable policy. Don't join that gym then. Yes, it's that's simple. I refuse to have dinner at any restaurant that doesn't serve beer. Why? That's my choice and alcohol-free restaurants are stupid. It's that simple.

You have it backwards SportsGuy. You should be saying, "if you don't like, as a guy, being told to stay the heck out of the women's locker room, then you are free to go elsewhere". The women should not be inconvenienced because of one dude with "issues". If he decides to have a sex change operation, then I am OK with it...but not just because he "feels" like a woman.

It doesn't matter if this women or any other woman is inconvenienced. If they don't like the rules of the private gym they belong too, they are free to cancel their membership.

I agree with you 100% on the above.

 

But if this is what the club wants, that is their policy, a dumb one, but it is their policy. The next few months will be interesting to see if 1,000's of women will leave PF, if not then they are okay with the policy. Or with the threat of a very large number of their members (female) in the country leaving (taking a huge hit financially) will they change their policy? And even if there is just one gym kind of close by or zero gyms nearby, it's the company's right to have this policy, I agree it's a dumb policy, but no one is forced to join.

Again, if Planet Fitness was denying membership to homosexuals you would have a comparison to the baker. As it is it's an apples and oranges comparison. They aren't discriminating against a specific group by denying services.

They aren't discriminating against anyone. Their policy is out there for everyone to read. It is known now that men may be in the women's dressing room and women may be in the men's dressing room. If you don't like that policy you have two options. One, if your a member quit / if you aren't a member don't join. Two, don't use the locker rooms.

Do I think it's a bad decision/policy? Absolutely. Is it well within their right? Without question.
