Planet Fitness drops member after gender identity complaint

Featured Replies

she doesn't have to put up with it. Shes free to not be a member.

So you are OK then with a man being able to say he is a woman and therefore having the "right" to hang out with the women in the showers? It should be on the other women to have to inconvenience themselves to accommodate this man. That is what you are saying??

I am saying that if he thinks of himself as a woman, that is his issue and does not give him the right to infringe on others...and that is what he is doing.

A business decision.

A baker don't want to bake cakes for a gay wedding and is forced to under law.

A woman doesn't want a man taking a shower with her and the business drops her.

Something isn't right.

We cant fly the American flag

Can't pray in public anymore

Have to let guys shower with women

Preachers are almost forced to hand over sermons

Parents killing their 3yr old

Can't say Muslim Extremist

Everything is about race

Have to be politically correct over everything

We condone liars/thieves to be politicians

The POTUS has a preacher who GD's America

Who says this isn't the end times a comin

The bolded are GREAT points. The gay people getting married who the bakers don't want to bake cakes for (because their religious beliefs don't agree with gay marriage) can change bakers.

No, I'm not ok but planet fitness is free to run their business how they see fit and the women are free not to be members. They don't have even have to offer showers, they do as a service to their members.

She doesn't have to put up with that. I bet that there are many other gyms in the area.

So by your stance, you have no issue with a man, walking into a womans restroom, at any public place, if that is who he/she feels they identify as correct?

If you don't like it switch gyms. It's really that simple. :lol2:

So regarding the gay wedding cake:

"If you don't like it, switch bakers. It's really that simple. :lol2:

Is planet fitness denying membership to homosexuals?

I agree...if you identify yourself as a woman but are actually a man, if you don't like not being able to use the woman's facilities, you should be free to go to another gym.

Our world is getting so twisted on some things. We are so afraid of offending gays/transexuals that we have lost common sense in many instances. A man should not be able to just walk into the woman's locker/shower area...PERIOD. It's really that simple.

I agree wholeheartedly. A place of business that would allow a man to walk into a woman's locker/shower area wouldn't get one penny of my money. I think it is despicable to allow a man into a woman's locker room. I hope Planet Fitness suffers the fate of going bankrupt for allowing men into women's locker rooms. They wouldn't get my money nor would I recommend anyone going there to work out. I don't get why this is such a polarizing issue. A business has an unacceptable policy. Don't join that gym then. Yes, it's that's simple. I refuse to have dinner at any restaurant that doesn't serve beer. Why? That's my choice and alcohol-free restaurants are stupid. It's that simple.

I don't believe that everything should be a law. See post 8.

The problem is that if PF tells the guy he cannot go into the women's locker room, he may sue them and with our court system today, he may win. That is what is so twisted. I don't think PF is doing what they are doing because they want to...they are doing it because their lawyers are telling them they must to avoid lawsuits.

They need better lawyers then. I'm sure there are plenty of gyms who don't cave in for the sake of attracting or not offending members.

Yes. I'm sure there is a baker somewhere who would be happy to bake that cake. If a place of business said they wouldn't serve me because I was black I'd go somewhere else. If Fat Tire said I couldn't have their beer because I was black I'd find a new beer to drink. Would it bother me? Absolutely. Would I voice my opinion on them publicly and pray for their downfall? Absolutely. Would I find someone else who would take my money for their services? Absolutely.

I wish it was that simple PP92. There have been bakers sued (and have lost) over this issue.

For those who say just change gyms, it's not that easy, sometimes there are only 1 gym in town. It's not like just going to a different grocer or cake baker.

If you got a penis you should be in the boys bathroom until you change over to a vagina.
