March 3, 201511 yr Minimum security prisons for the most part aren't horrible. I have been in a couple of them. Umm...let me re-phrase that. I have VISITED a couple of them for work, conducting safety audits. The newer ones are almost like someone said above, a small college campus with a fence around it. It almost shocked me the freedom to walk around and the atmosphere, it wasn't what I was expecting. Not that I would want to be in one for a couple of years, but if you had to...well there are worse things. The better bet would be 1 out of 10 or 2 years in a max security prison. Now THAT would be do or die there. And talk about puckering up if you missed the first 5 or 6.
