February 25, 201511 yr He's an addict. Hope he's able to find help, assuming this is a drug related issue.
February 26, 201511 yr That's a shame. If you've never had anyone close to you who's had drug related problems you are lucky. It's a very sad thing and in the Northern Ky. area it is a problem that is very much out of control today. Hope and pray he gets this behind him and can get on with his life because it has caused him much pain and suffering already that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

I'm from the area but I've worked in pharmacies all over the state because of school so I can tell you for sure that we fill more Suboxone and Subutex prescriptions than anywhere else by a LARGE margin. Those are the typical drugs used to help combat opioid addiction but unfortunately its like switching the addiction from one thing to another and its hard to get them off unless they are highly committed and that they actually want to quit. Its extremely sad to see.
February 26, 201511 yr Think it's time the Angels cut ties with him. Hope he's able to get his life back on track, just think it's time for baseball to move on from him.

February 26, 201511 yr I wonder if there was anything in that contract regarding drugs? Yeah, I'd be interested in that as well. I just think it's to the point where enough is enough. The guy has had numerous chances, and can't stay clean. He needs to forget about baseball and get the help he needs.
February 26, 201511 yr Deadspin is reporting it was at least a cocaine relapse. Report: Josh Hamilton Had Relapse Involving "At Least Cocaine"

Will Carroll @injuryexpert Angels do not have right to void Hamilton's contract due to drug violation. He is required to take additional drug tests. Hamilton is subject to same discipline for drugs as every other player under MLB policy. Club cannot add penalties.

February 26, 201511 yr The power that cocaine and heroin have over people is scary. And it's why some people never take that first drink.
February 26, 201511 yr They can release him can't they? That's what they need to do. Sure, but they still have to pay him.
February 26, 201511 yr They can release him can't they? That's what they need to do. Sure, but they still have to pay him. Wow. I still can't wrap my head around why you would sign him in the first place... But talk about being in a bad spot. I'm with UK, I cut ties with him regardless of what he's owed. Best for team and best for Hamilton.
