What happened to McGregor last year?

 

Had shoulder surgery.

I think Bateman moves back to FB where he was as a Freshman and McGregor and England split the TB duties. Either way it turns out that's a pretty solid and deep backfield..

 

Is Eric Wright(sp) kid still at Ryle? If so, does he figure to get any carries this year? Is there any thought of putting England back at TE since he had so much success there? His size gives him some versatility to play a couple of positions.

It can sometimes strengthen your team if you have a strong backup at one position but perhaps not so much at another. Not saying it's the case but could Ryle strengthen their TE position more than they weaken their RB position with such a move? The sum of the moves might be good for the team but I guess it would depend on how involved TE is in their offense.

I think it would be a bad move they already have 6'1 210 pound Michael Penick at TE he caught 6 catches for 102 yards.

IMO,, I think he would create a match up issue. He would be probably covered by a LB who could not run with him.,, get him out into space where he would be even more of a threat and difficult to bring down 1 on 1. Similar to what I have seen them do with him on K/O. I don't think they totally abandon him running the ball,, that would not be a great use of his talents. However if McGregor is in the backfield,,, having England at the TE gives Ryle another weapon on the field that teams would have to account for. It could be special package for certain situations.

Who was getting "his carries" last year?? Lashunn is very talented, no doubt, but will he have the line to support him?

Lloyd has several back who will get some yards. They return several big kids on the line this year. Townsend caught the ball alot also. Not sure who their qb will be this year though.

I think NKY has the best group of running backs in the state this year.

In my opinion, he is the best back at Scott right now . This young man puts in the effort on his own during the off season and it shows . I have enjoyed watching him develop and get better year after year. With him and London sharing the spot light this year and big Ron Rice on the line . The Senior running backs should have an explosive year.
