10th Region Coach and Player of the Year

Featured Replies

You also have to look at the fact that she is primarily the team's offense, so will likely have higher ppg, while GRC has more of a balanced offense.

Can't argue that but this is player of the year not team of the year. IMO a POY should have outstanding numbers. She has those numbers because of her ability not because she has too. She has a good supporting cast around her that gives more oppertunities to score the basketball. GRC may very well be a better team with better athletes that allows them to be more balanced. But Bailey is the best player.

And next, your going to try to convince us she will beat Boley out for Ms Basketball next year.

I have not seen Cummins play but Skinner is just a far superior athlete than anyone else I have seen play this year! With that said I thought she could be even better if she played more from the outside rather than as mainly a post player! Not a big around that could defend her of the dribble!! If she could knock shots from outside consistently she would be deadly! Maybe she can idk

Thanks so much on the kind words about Sandra. She had to play center that night we played you all as our 6'3 center was hurt and did not play.

Good one.....:lol2:

I wouldn't exactly say she's their only source of offense. They also have a nice freshman, Kinley Ruff, that can flat out hoop. Bailey has been great since 8th grade but Bracken wouldn't have made it past 1st round of All A State without Kinley. With that Being said POY should go to Bailey Cummins and COY should be without a question Patrick Kelsch.

Wow!!!! Bailey Cummins is not the POY in the 10th!!! The 10th must be like a family tree just with no branches. A family trunk!!!

After speaking with several coaches in the 9th/10th regions Coach Menifee is not well liked by his peers and for that reason probably won't garner many votes. For the record that shouldn't take away from the job he's done'!

That's a shame because he has done a tremendous job in his first year with the Lady Camels. It shouldn't be a popularity contest.

Not sure why 9th Region coaches would enter into this discussion. Would be curious what your definition of "several" 10th Region coaches is. Given that Coach Menifee is brand new into the 10th, I find it hard to believe that the 10th Region Girls coaches would have formed such an immediate opinion of a league rookie....

What was your coach count for the 10th when you were polling ?

Majority were from the 10th, and honestly a lot that followed basketball remembered him from his coaching days at Bellevue.
