I dont believe any current NewCath coaches will leave the hill

 

I've been told a few were not coming back. :idunno:

I believe one of those is because of work hours not to take another coaching job.

Former NAIA Player Of The Year, Eviston, Back In NKY As Head Football Coach At Covington Catholic

 

Eddie Eviston found great success at Georgetown College; the three-time NAIA Player of the Year quarterback from northern Kentucky helped the Tigers to 41-1 mark with back-to-back national titles.

 

Georgetown head coach Bill Cronin announced Monday that Eviston would be moving on to return to head coaching in his home area at Covington Catholic High School.

 

“Eddie has been and always will be a Tiger,” Cronin said. “He was an easy hire back in 2013, and I can’t blame any school trying to entice him away from us. This was an opportunity to return closer to home and back to head coaching ranks. We wish him good luck and look forward to recruiting a number of his players in the future.”

Not that it matters but just out of curiosity did Eddie contact CovCath about the job or did CovCath contact Eddie first?

I stand corrected. Per the article in my post above, Eddie is quoted as saying, "When Covington Catholic came knocking it was just something I couldn’t turn down. This benefits myself as well as my wife and daughters."

Did this guy go to school with Tony Bacigalupo? Do they know each other from high school days?

Tony did play jv and dress varsity basketball as a freshman. So they know each other a little bit.

They've usually involved more folks than just Mike Guidugli and Bob Rowe when interviewing and hiring head coaches. I would assume Bacigalupo had a hand in the matter.
