February 7, 201511 yr Personally, one of my favorite basketball players of all time, at any level. As he continues to excel in his basketball career overseas, thought it would be fun to recall some of your favorite moments, plays, games, memories, etc., etc., etc., from high school, college, etc. (Wasn't sure where to post this thread. If not correct forum, I assume someone can move it.)
February 7, 201511 yr When my son played against him during the summer. I think it was AAU. My son played for Madison Central. After the game my son told me that Chris was the best player he every played against. We laughed about it and I said you'll probably never play against anybody better. It made my son practice harder to become a better player. My son's name is Chris too Edited February 7, 201511 yr by nWo

February 7, 201511 yr First time with the varsity durin the summer of my freshman year I played against Lofton. He was a great player and seemed like a better guy. Glad to see he's doing well.
February 7, 201511 yr I forgot to add this. My son also said the Chris was one of the nicest people he ever played against. Now don't get me started on Coach Kelly Wells. I got to meet him when my son played against Pikeville College. One of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
February 8, 201511 yr I have many stories but my number one was when he hit a 40 footer against Lex. Catholic to tie the game in the 5/3rd tourney in which Mason won in OT. The fans were chanting Tubby, Tubby, and Tubby but he still did not impress Tubby I guess! Second was the State tourney game against Trinty.
February 8, 201511 yr We were playing Breathitt in the 1st game of the Rec Bowl in 2003. They are defending state champs, it is hot. Late in the 2nd quarter, having played the entire game to that point, Chris says to me, "Coach, am I going to rotate?" My response, " Yes. You are. We are taking you out at halftime. When halftime is over, we are putting you back in."

February 10, 201511 yr Agree with Sumo on the 40 footer. Mine are more just hanging out together playing ball at the Y and just taking it easy. Chris is one of the most laid back people I've ever met, much less probably the best athlete I've ever played with. Also Coach Wells and I still email back and forth from time to time. I had Coach Wells classes in school and my senior year basically spent about 3 periods out of the day in his room just hanging out.
February 14, 201511 yr Author Always enjoy watching his 3-pointer over Kevin Durant in the Tennessee vs Texas game.
February 14, 201511 yr The one that I don't like to remember is when he nailed a long 3 against Trinity in the state tournament as time was running out to send the game into OT or a second OT... can't remember which..(.maybe the game went 3 OT's). Of course, Mason County ended up winning the game. I always had the utmost respect for him as a player.
