You mean 2 DAYS, right? I think a lot of players want to get the whole college recruiting thing "done" before their senior season so they can just concentrate on playing. He thought he had it wrapped up. That is the whole point of committing early...so you get the process done. Unfortunately, a commitment is not really a commitment I guess (for both sides). It's like the Seinfeld bit regarding reservations..."anybody can take a reservation, the key is you have to HOLD the reservation"...

Your right, commitment is not commitment for either side. Look at how many recruits flipped on signing day and the weeks and days leading up to it.

Any credibility to the theory that adults and institutions of higher learning that have dealt with the recruiting process many, many times should be held to a higher standard than a teenage aged boy dealing with the recruiting decision for the first and only time in his life?

Absolutely. The kid is making a life altering decision. The school, if a kid changes his mind at the last minute can easily move on. The schools should be held to a much higher standard IMO.

I have not said once that Louisville didn't do anything wrong, here. I find they're actions deplorable.

 

However, what I'm seeing is everybody just piling on Louisville. I expect that here, but the columnists bother me.

 

What should be being transmitted, by these pontificators of knowledge and advice, to those being recruited and the adults advising them, now, is "There is no such thing as a sure thing in life and prepare yourself accordingly."

From a nation-wide standpoint, it's less about Louisville than it is about advancing the "Petrino has a history of being a scumbag. See, here's the latest evidence" narrative. Probably will follow him wherever he goes the rest of his career because, well, he earned his reputation.
