Josh Gordon officially suspended by NFL for 2015 season

Featured Replies

"As we have conveyed, we are disappointed to once again be at this point with Josh. Throughout his career we have tried to assist him in getting support like we would with any member of our organization," Browns general manager Ray Farmer said. "Unfortunately our efforts have not resonated with him.

"It is evident that Josh needs to make some substantial strides to live up to the positive culture we are trying to build this football team upon. Our hope is that this suspension affords Josh the opportunity to gain some clarity in determining what he wants to accomplish moving forward and if he wants a career in the National Football League.

"We will have no further comment on Josh as he will not be permitted in our facility for the duration of his suspension."

Just sad...

Just thinking of all of the Fantasy Owners that held onto him last year waiting for him to get eligible and most were going to make him a keeper this season :lol2:

On a serious note, Hopefully someone can get a hold of him and knock some sense into him. HUGE waste of talent.

This just shows how strong addiction is for some people. This guy was living the dream in the NFL and threw it all away. I pray he can overcome the demons inside him before his entire life is wasted.

I just don't get it.

His brain doesn't function properly, that is all you need to know.

Stephan A Smith of ESPN spoke on WKNR radio Cleveland the day after Josh Gordon wrote his open letter. He was dynamite. Sounded like the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr when he was explaining that Josh's actions are reflecting poorly on those who come from the same background as he did. Josh was using his place of origin as an excuse for his bad behavior and saying he could have been worse. This really ticked Smith off and he sounded like a preacher, "content of your character" type stuff. Really good. The next day on his Smith's own show he had toned it down a bit. Unfortunaley, I couldn't find the podcast of that broadcast only a podcast replaying some snippets from it.

Gordon need sto take responsibility for himself. He has had more chances and opportunities than any person deserves. It is up to him to man-up and change his course by availing himself of all available help.

I like Stephan A. because he calls everyone out except women, that got him suspended.

In other words, he is doing the best he can.

Well depending on how this year goes, if I am the Bengals I try to do what they did with Adam Jones.

If I was the Bengals I would be all over Gordon if they could get him on the cheap.

He does have some serious talent and it is so tempting to invest in it.

I think the Browns will hold on to him through the suspension and if they are not satisfied with his effort by 2016, they will try to trade him. Why just cut him when the don't have to pay him until after the suspension and they may be able to get something for him?

They will hold on to him they don't have to pay him next year and they don't lose the time of his rookie contract so they have him cheap.

And Gordon may not get credit for 2014 as a year in the system which could set him back another year on FA.
