I want to set a goal for calories per day but I have no idea how many calories you typically burn in a normal day (On a normal day you don't workout). Anyone have any insight on that?

I used this calculator but I have no idea if that kind of thing is accurate at all.

I wanted to add that number to what I want to burn during a workout. :taz:

Last Wednesday & Friday I didn't workout. It says I burned 2403 calories on Wed and 2642 on Fri.

Almost every day I look at that I didn't work out calories burned ranges from 2400-2700.

I just did a walk with the kid and it tracked like .60 miles for what I already know is about 1.30 miles. Any idea how to fix that?

I over seeded two pastures with a hand spreader last Saturday. I checked my Polar activity tracker. I took 37,450 steps!

Sync it up with your phone's GPS....

I just use the pacer app on my phone and make sure I have my phone as much as possible. I'm sure I miss some steps when I leave my phone out, but not many and I didn't pay for it.

To answer someone's earlier question I do believe that knowing how many steps you have taken makes me more active. I feel bad if I don't get 15K steps per day average. if I know I had a bad day with 5-8K steps I'm getting 20K+ the next day for sure.

I finally used a couple of gift cards and picked up a Fitbit Charge HR on Wednesday. So far I absolutely love this thing. Cool as hell.

I really like my Fitbit. It's so cool when it gives off an alarm when I've walked 10,000 steps for the day.

But sometimes in the morning when I put it on, it flashes "Love ya". That is just creepy!

See where they are coming out with a new model that looks to be going after the Apple Watch. Only priced at $199 which I don't understand considering the surge is $249.

I've had mine for a while now, it's kind of nice for the gym so I can make sure I get so many miles in between basketball, elliptical, and treadmill. Other than that it's kinda pointless.

A buddy of mine just started work for them. I give it 6 months and I'll have a freebie.

I was in Dallas 2 weeks ago for work and hooked up with my former work buddy. She tells me she has an ample supply of fitbit's at the house. Tells me to look on line and tell her which one I would like. I went with the Blaze. Got it yesterday. So far so good. I was tracking steps with my phone but this is more accurate because the phone is on my desk all day when I run down stairs or pace when I'm on the office line. Looking forward to seeing what it will do.

I love mine! It's motivates me. I will head out for late night walks just to get my 10k steps by midnight.

So I've completely reversed course on these things. They suck.

Got mine at the very end of October last year. Fast forward to February of this year and the band is starting to bubble up and rip. I contact them, and no questions asked, have a brand new one sent to me within a week.

Fast forward to the end of April, and the band bubbles up and completely rips on my new one. What a crap product. If the blasted thing can't even last more than a couple months what the hell's the point of them.

Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
