Still really liking if. Though it's a constant reminder that I barely get half the sleep you are supposed to.

Thinking about getting a Fitbit. Trying to figure out which one I want. The heart rate, sleep analysis, calories taken in or burnt are all features I'd like to have. How in the heck do these things know how many calories you've taken in for the day?

My wife has the Charge HR. It does the heart rate, sleep analysis, and calories burnt. Not sure if any of them do the calorie intake. Maybe it's something you have to enter in? :idunno:

A buddy of mine just started work for them. I give it 6 months and I'll have a freebie.

I have a surge and love it. If you like to run at all go with the surge. It has the gps built in and will show you pace, distance, ect... while you are running. Then when you sync to your phone it will show the route via a map. It's pretty cool. For calories in you have to enter what you eat in the phone ap. I'm not real impressed with feature. It can be cumbersome and time consuming. Mainly because a lot of standard items in there multiple times with different values. Means you are having to create from scratch what you want. I've only enter stuff a few times. Just lazy I guess.

Have one , so do my son wife and daughter . I wear it everyday . Hit 10,000 steps almost every day .

Noted, that would make more sense.

I don't "like to run". I think you people that do are sick in the head. With that said I'm coming off of a bad ankle sprain and it made me realize how much I take fore granted being able to run. So I decided after that I'd take advantage of being able to run more once I am all healed up. I'd really like to drop about 10-15 lbs. I know I can do it on my own but I think the Fitbit will help push me some in the cardio portion of my workouts.

Oh, I'm not a fan of running. I use to love it but not so much anymore. However I do recognize it's value in over all training and fitness.

Ok then I think we are on the same page. I'm a big fan of the row machine and I've got the soreness today to prove it.

Definitely like the rower over running however that doesn't mean I like it. We had a team competition at my crossfit gym Saturday morning and one of the workouts was 3 rounds of 800m run followed by 800m row. One team member would do the run then tag the person on the rower and they would go. You alternate members for every round. I did the first row, came out as hard as I could. About the 600m mark I think I started blacking out:lol2:. About 10 mins after I finished the lactic acid in my legs got so bad it just about made me cry. The rower can be evil.

I'm pretty sure the Fitbit can link with MyFitnessPal, which is a calorie tracker/database.

I'm too poor for Crossfit or I'd consider doing that stuff. Not to mention it really doesn't mesh too well with my work schedule.

My gym isn't too bad as far as CrossFit gyms go. They also give a nice discount to LEO and Firefighters. I think it ends up only costing them $55 a month.
