January 13, 201511 yr I hope somebody can beat Jeb but I don't want it to be Romney. When it comes to the office of the Presidency, the old saying, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" should not apply. This country does not need anymore Bushes or Clintons in the WH! I think most Reagan fans would disagree with that. If you look back to when he ran Romney has proven to be right on a lot of his predictions. I'm not saying he's great but Romney was more in tune with what was going on around the world than Pres. Obama was...I remember Romney talking about the threat from Russian expansion and the President laughing at him and said the 70's wanted their foriegn policy back.
January 13, 201511 yr I really like Paul but I think the left will make him out to be the biggest Radical in the last 100 years. He'll spend so much time trying to convince people that he's not part of some Tea Party Anti-Govt Militia or praying to Aqua Buddha. If he focuses on smaller government and makes that 90% of his platform I think he'd have a chance. He can't get caught up in the fringe Libertarian positions that don't have wide spread popularity. I agree with UKMF, I like the idea of Rubio more than I like his chances...Possible VP Jeb Bush IMO would have an easier time beating Clinton than he would winning the primary. Christie, I've never warmed to him. But I'd like to hear more about his ideas and plans. I completely disagree about Rand Paul. I think he's going to have a hell of a time winning the primary, but if he can manage, he'll have a much easier time against Clinton. His ideas are common-sense politics, and he has stances on many issues that will appeal to both sides. The trick will be convincing the R's that he's one of them (which he really isn't). My stance on Rubio is as I said, I like the idea of him, like what he brings to the table, but then I hear him talk and I don't know, it's just lackluster. He's missing something.

Reagan never won the GOP nomination and lost the General Election.

January 13, 201511 yr Chance of likelihood in being nominee 1) Bush 2) Romney 3) Paul 4) Christie (just because everyone knows he's a darn good politician, just not sure if he's electable) Other realistic longshots Rick Perry, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Rob Portman My choices in order 1) Christie 2) Kasich 3) Paul And I really do think Rob Portman is a lock for VP candidate.
