Well I did say any of those 3 but I will respectfully disagree with you on this. This is not a question of team success it's a question of best player no matter the team. Team success is a totally different thread. And while the Polar Bears are lacking in the W column at this point in the season it's not from a lack of effort team wide. With Crawford leading the way. 26 ppg and 9.5 rpg it's hard not to have him in the conversation.

 

While this is a high school basketball thread if memory serves me correctly A-Rod won the AL MVP with the Texas Rangers when that season they were close to if not in last place in their division that season. I know that is like comparing apples and oranges but I think you know what I mean with that statement.

 

Furthermore I would say the same for Henry or King of they played for a less than stellar team. When you want to talk about best player IMO you can't use team success or lack there of as a factor. Their numbers alone is what you compare.

 

If the Augusta Panthers had went 5-20 last year and lost in the first round of the district I still would have said Brent Bach was the best player in the region based on his numbers alone. :thumb:

Describe winning. 15-20 games, over .500, winning district, winning region, winning the All A, winning state?

Winning against weak teams or losing against strong teams. Have to look at the player himself at times. Corey Pelle is a great example.

10th IMO any of these 3. Dorian Henry, Austin Crawford, or King from GRC. I can never remember his first name.

 

 

From GRC it is Damion King. IMO he has to be considered too. He is not a flashy player and shows little emotion on the floor. To see him warm up you would ask, "Are you sure that is the one they are talking about". He is small but quick and high B-ball IQ. He is a warrior on both ends of the court. You won't see any dunk highlights of him, but you will see a kid that has the heart of a lion and leader of our team. If he needs to score he can, he is the floor general and is very good at keeping the other players involved, and has few turnovers. He usually plays the entire game each night, and we average playing 10 players a game. He is our leading scorer, and in steals, but so many things he does for our team doesn't show up in the stats.

 

I know there are some good players mentioned in this thread and deservedly so, but I wouldn't trade Damion King for any of them.

11th Tanner Johnson or Matt Rose right now

8th Region - Carson Williams of Owen County is the odds-on choice right now, but the following are having incredible seasons for their schools and will certainly garner votes.

Jonathan Henry, North Oldham

Mullins, Simon Kenton
