He puts a 'decent' product on the field. Enough to line his pockets and keep the interest in his team high. But he is not selling the tickets he used to. Bengal fans are too fickle.

Top 10% is not decent. I'm as irritated as the rest, but there are about 4 teams that have a 4 year playoff run. They're certainly in the Top 10% of the NFL.

Looking at the last power rankings and wildcard games I would have the Bengals around 11-12. I consider the top 8 good so the best I can give them is to agree that they were decent.

It would be interesting to see the TV contracts with the NFL. If a team has only a few butts in the seats that is pretty embarrassing for the league and would be nice if there were some penalty attached to a lack of live attendance. That might shake someone into improving his product.

Not going to happen. There will always be diehard fans, regardless of the misery. Did you see all the fans that were at the stadium with signs when the Bengals boarded the buses for Indy? They were probably there went the buses got back.

Mike Brown has this city over a barrel, because of the Hamilton County tax payers already paying for his stadium deal, BTW, worst deal ever, so you really brought this on yourselves because of cowering to Mike Brown and the stadium deal. Now you're having to lay in the bed you have made for yourselves. Can't really blame Brown for being a shewed business man, all he cares about is making money on his business, which just happens to be the Bengals. Marvin, and Andy are as safe as being in a mother's arms. Neither is going anywhere. :deadhorse:

If I were Mike Brown, I wouldn't be any different. The problem with fans is they approach everything from a fan's perspective. Mike Brown is 1st and foremost a businessman. He, like the vast majority of pro sports ownership, views the situation from a business perspective. Winning and losing is secondary. If I were in his shoes, I'd be the same way.

I disagree with you. Owners like Jones, Cuban, guy from Washington, view their teams as an expensive hobby, and are willing to do whatever it takes, to TRY and win, not just sit back and be OK with just getting to the playoffs. I'd be willing to bet, had the Cowboys lost yesterday, Garret would have been gone today. Now these franchises don't win all the time, but at least the go out and shake things up, or don't let things become stale. These franchise spend money, year after year, trying to get better, the Bengals never do. Just stay in the conversation, and Mike's world couldn't be happier. :thumb:

So you're telling me if 50% of season ticket holders DIDN'T re-up, Mikey boy wouldn't take a big hit in the wallet, check yourself, especially the luxury sweets. Things would change in a heart beat, if season ticket holds didn't re-up.

Perhaps, I don't know what the threshold is. In 2011 they had 75% attendance yet were still among the leaders in profits. I would think at some point the NFL would step in since it is a franchise and does impact other teams.
