January 5, 201511 yr Another new record for Marvin Lewis and the Bengals!!!! Bengals are also the first team in NFL history to lose 4 straight NFL Wildcard games So we have that going for us too!!!
January 5, 201511 yr Everybody needs to go to Paul Brown and protest! People forget It is his company not ours. You don't like his product don't buy it. Until it hits him in his wallet things will not change.

Not sure what would hit him in the wallet. My guess is ticket sales and advertising revenue from the stadium are dwarfed by other sources. The impression I've always had is that he only changes when he's received a ton of grief from Katy Brown as she seems to care more about how the family is perceived than he does.
January 5, 201511 yr As much as it pains me to say it, Mike Brown has done a very good job over the last 5 years (maybe longer). He puts a 'decent' product on the field. Enough to line his pockets and keep the interest in his team high. But he is not selling the tickets he used to. Bengal fans are too fickle.

Totally agree and accurate. Mike Bornw doesn't lose a lot of money when ticket sales drops. He makes money off of concessions before the season even starts because the company signs an agreement with Mike Brown and the Bengals are given money up front for concessions, same as the TV contracts etc. Mike makes something like 100+ million a year on just TV contracts, so he will never be hurting even with an empty stadium, and that is a fact.

I would think as butts in the seats vanish, the consession companies reduce their offer. That would leave the poor guy with maybe only $95 mil vs. $100 mil. Never said he would be hurting but it does eventually come back to bite him. Does he lose local contract money when black outs occur?
January 5, 201511 yr It would be interesting to see the TV contracts with the NFL. If a team has only a few butts in the seats that is pretty embarrassing for the league and would be nice if there were some penalty attached to a lack of live attendance. That might shake someone into improving his product.
