With season half over who are the best teams in 12th region?

Featured Replies

Not to get ahead of ourselves but I was talking to a 12th Region Asst Coach tonight that's been around the 12th for the last 30 years or so. He said he really feels who ever comes out of the 12th has a chance to go far in the Sweet 16 this season.

So far I think the 12th has acquitted itself pretty well against outside competition...I look for and expect the 12th to be really good and competitive.

Southwestern and Boyle have most talent Lincoln will have home court but Wayne has the best coach

Agree, Wayne certainly has the best coach. Not 100% sure on this but hasnt he always won with his own kids. Good coaches dont have to go looking other places for players, they adapt their coaching to their kids strengths. Jackson is a good coach as well.

Mercer will be in the hunt.
Good coach, good talent. Lincoln will be tough too.

I'll take any of the coaches of the top 4 teams. I don't think Woods is any better than the other three or Kelley at West.

Appears as though you're implying certain things about other coaches not named Rodney Woods...

It's hard to say. I think the top 4 are a in a different league than the rest of the region. I expect these 4 to be in the region semifinals.

It would just be a shame if the draw pitted the districts against each other in the first round. Imagine the winner of Wayne/SW playing the loser of Boyle/Lincoln or the other way around.

If you say so...

Woods is a great coach and is great at recognizing talent where ever he sees it.

Doesn't matter. No way all four of those teams are dropped on "any given night" come March. Could one of them lose? Sure. To expect one of those four to not make it to Rupp is asinine and none of the other teams are capable of winning against teams like that on multiple nights in March. Can they get one? Absolutely. To think that East, West or Mercer can defeat multiple teams in the top 4 of Lincoln, Wayne, Boyle or Southwestern is fool's gold. You may beat one but none of you are good enough to beat all of them to make it to Rupp. Quit kidding yourselves.

Stranger things have happened my friend. That's why it is called March Madness!

The whole region will be shocked if one of the top four teams don't make it to Rupp. I think it is safe to say that. Shocked!!!!

I'm not saying I think anyone other than the top 4 will make it to Rupp. I fully expect one of those teams to represent the 12th. I'm saying that it would be a shame if the regional draw made it so it was impossible to have all 4 in the semifinals.

I agree with you PP. The odds are low that it will be a team other than one of those 4. As I said before, there is no doubt that these are the top 4 teams. All I'm saying is that there's a reasonable chance that, between the draws and the realistic possibility of the "any given night" happening in regional play, not any one of these teams should be overly confident about their chances. That's all.
