Please correct me if I am wrong here, but Austin Hill is about 5'11" to 6'1" and is a bulky playmaking combo guard. .

 

I'd say Austin is 6'1 to 6'3 probably 200-210 pounds.

 

He will also get some serious consideration for football.

I wanted to give everyone the update from the past weekend. It was a great weekend as we won our third championship.

Kentucky Shining Star Sports-CHAMPIONS!!

 

The Kentucky Shining Star Sports team finished 5 wins and 0 losses for the weekend. The Kentucky team won a its third championship of the year. A very fine showing for the team.

 

Game 1 Kentucky Shining Star Sports 86 Dayton Nets 73

 

In the opening round of the tournament the Kentucky Shining Star Sports team beat a very athletic Dayton Nets team. Despite going 8 for 18 from the free throw line the S3 team won by 13. The S3 team shot the ball extremely well in making 10 of 22 three point shots. Five players scored 11 or more points in a nice victory for S3.

Game 2 Kentucky Shining Star Sports 67 CCC Stars 35

 

In the second game of the tourney the Kentucky Shining Star Sports team beat CCC Stars to secure first place in their pool and secure a bye in the first round of the one and out tournament. The S3 team played very well and finished with a 32 point victory.

Game 3 Kentucky Shining Star Sports 66 Cincinnati Elite 31

 

The Kentucky Shining Star Sports team came out on fire and shot over 70% from the field against the Cincinnati Elite team. The S3 team also made 12 of 16 free throws in rolling past the Elite team. This was the first game of the one and out portion of the tournament.

The Kentucky Shining Star Sports met up with one of its own in the semi-finals of the tournament. The Kentucky team ended up winning after a very tight first half of basketball. The Kentucky team shared the basketball and had a very balanced attack. The win allowed the Kentucky team to advance to the finals of the tournament.

In the Championship game the Kentucky Shining Star Sports team played one of their better defensive games of the year. The Kentucky team held the Cincinnati team to 40 total points. The Kentucky team wins the championship with a very balanced attack.

We have had a great deal of interaction with college coaches. We will play a good number of NCAA certified events in July.

 

We just found out this morning that we have received an invitation to the 17 and under AAU Super Showcase in Orlando in July. This should be a great showcase for some of our players.

We do have some sponsorship. Not as much as I would like to have in place for our program, but being the first year in Kentucky I can't complain.

 

Hopefully we will be able to increase our sponsorship in the near future. We have put a lot of programs in place for the kids involved in our program and it is always easier to operate if funds are available.

Nice to see Nic Simpson is playing up with those guys......I expect him to really be a force next season. It is also nice to see small school product Corey Pelle playing with the big boys. Good luck in the tourneys this summer.

I loved watching Nic's athleticism... if he could develop a potent outside shot like you are mentioning... he will be deadly. To have the dribble drive capability that he does as well as a jumper....he will be a major prospect as a Sr.

 

As far as Pelle...he is just a scoring machine...like Justin....

Also nice to hear Austin is doing so well with the Shining Stars...he has really worked on his game and it looks like its showing on a larger stage against better competition...I expect great things out of him in the near future. He is a great kid with a positive attitude and work ethic. Him and Todd Jacobs compliment eachothers games so well its unreal. Good luck to the Shining Stars Sports team the rest of the summer.
