I am curious about how the Buckeyes would have done with Barrett playing BEFORE the game. I will definitely wonder how the Buckeyes would have done after the game with Barrett. Is there something wrong with thinking that??

No that's a logical question, they would have been underdawgs regardless. JT is obviously better but would need to play a flawless game either way.

If the Buckeye team shows up that crushed Wisconsin for the B1G Championship, I could see a good game. If not, I think Alabama wins by at least 14.

Even though this is not the completely dominant team of Alabama's recent past, they still have the key players they need to get the job done.

The tide will be too big and physical for the style of the buckeyes play.

You know, about 4 months ago, I was hearing how big and strong and fast Bama was, and how they would blow WVU out. Although they did beat us, they didn't blow us out, and a fathom out of bounds late hit and a couple of dropped passes, who knows what happens. That being said, if the OSU team that destroyed Wisconsin, who knows. I think Bama wins, but I've also learned that when Meyer has nothing to lose, he will pull out all the stops. I do think this game is a lot closer than most folks think. Last time to the Sugar bowl was a nightmare for Nick.

Bama was also a couple missed plays away from blowing WVU out of the stadium, it works both ways. That was their first game with a new QB, not nearly the same team that is playing now.

 

That said, I do think OSU keeps it close.

Yes, I picked Bama to win the National Championship before the season started and have been all along. Should OSU win, imo it will be by beating Bama by throwing the football deep for a couple of Big Plays, the Bucks have a couple of speed burners at receivers and one very strong arm throwing to them.

This game has imo the two best coaches in college football. Both teams will be prepared and focused.

I would love nothing more than for Alabama to smack them from pillar to post, but honestly, I don't see any possibility that it happens. Alabama will have no answer for Ohio State's front four, they'll find it hard to run the football, and I like Urban Meyer's chances of being able to contain the most talented player in college football, Cooper for Alabama. Blake Sims won't have much time to throw, won't have the luxury of a running game to stay balanced and use play action, and will find Cooper draped with double coverage and underneath help. Alabama may well win the game because I do believe they have more good players than the Buckeyes, and being down to a 3rd string QB is a factor, but I think Ohio State makes it very hard on the Crimson Tide. I'll take Bama in a very close one, but man, that Ohio State front 4 is going to be a load to handle for them all day.

Bama best step it up if they want to be the #1 team. The ranking that was given to them.
