Pendleton County 78 Augusta 70

I was wrong...Augusta did cut the lead to 3 once in the 3rd quarter: 39-36.

The Panthers never had a lead in the game, though.

Pendleton County was really balanced, and as All Blue said, Hunter Lea was the difference. He finished with 15 & 15, but he had a double-double in the first half. Michael Antrobus hit some huge shots, as did Daugherty, who played very well off the bench. Senior Patrick McCain was also solid off the bench for the Wildcats.

Augusta made a game of it, but the 19-7 run by Pendleton to close the first half proved too much for the Panthers to overcome. Augusta did not shoot well from the perimeter, whereas Pendleton did. Camryn Snapp had an outstanding game with the 27 points.

Good ball game.

Although my Panthers didn't pull out the victory tonight it was worth the Car sickness just to see my buddy RP at the game doing his great play by play. Gotta be the fastest fingers across the BGP spectrum. Good to see you buddy.....I think I'm gonna try to get in on Papa's popcorn offer tomorrow night if I can...........

Great seeing you as well, my man. It had been a while! :thumb:

Have a bag of corn for me tomorrow night! :lol2:

Big win for Coach Belcher and the Wildcats! They seem to have found their shooting stroke the last two games. I think it's a little premature though to be "seeding" the 38th District in December and giving Pendleton County the #2 spot when they may be #1 now. This will be all about the draw as it always is.

Pendleton County took advantage of every opportunity Augusta gave them tonight. And there were plenty!! The Panthers often found themselves out of position underneath which led to numerous second chance points and wide open layups. Hopefully watching the video of this one will have the Panthers better prepared for Saturday's game vs. Scott. After suffering their first loss, how they bounce back will tell a lot about this team.

Can't say anything that hasn't already been said other than I'm SO proud of these guys and the way they played tonight! A total team effort, but as many have said Hunter Lea was a difference maker tonight. with that said, Cam Snapp is a BAD man. He's a top 5 region player for sure.

Always good seeing my Augusta pals, especially AndOneDad...and of course Randy Parker.

See I told you the 10th Region gods must be crazy.

Be there or be popcornless.

Thought Hunter Wood had a good floor game last night. Surprised no one has mentioned his free throw technique, one handed. It has been very effective for him. And yes, where would this team be without Lea?

I hear mumblings behind me every time he steps to the line. They stop talking when it finds net.

Hunter Lea is an athlete, pure and simple. He hasn't played basketball for two years, but is flat getting it done right now. He has a nose for the ball, and is hard to keep off the glass.

Funny thing is...basketball is his third best sport.

Michael Antrobus leads Pendleton County with 17. Hunter Lea had 15 & 15. Tanner Daugherty finished with 14 & Patrick McCain 13.

Game was re-stated using film. Hunter Lea had 15 points and 18 rebounds.

Nobody (not even the PC faithful) think they're the #1 team in the district right now. Harrison County is pretty strong, and will be a handful come January 30. Are they the #2 team? I'm willing to argue that they are considering a 20 point win over Nicholas County just happened a few days ago. But as you said, it's all about the draw.

Fun fact- Pendleton has never drawn Nicholas and Harrison has never drawn Robertson in the current alignment.
