Bengals TE Jermaine Gresham has on-air spat with Dave Lapham

Featured Replies

Yep Gresham is gone... Eifert wouldn't have been drafted so high if the Bengals were planning on keeping Gresham long term... And Hewitt is a better blocker, has better hands and already has a better understanding of the offense than Gresham.

The INT that Dalton threw to the Browns going for Hewitt was 100% on Dalton...just a bad throw.

But I know of at least two plays where Gresham screwed up and to those who don't know football, it made Dalton look bad. One was a INT and one was a missed TD on a wide open play.... In both cases, Gresham stopped running his route.

I think the Bengals will be happy to let him go... Only way he stays is if he gives them a bargain basement contract, and no player or agent will do that.

The Bengals really like Hewitt as a fullback not primarily as a te like Gresham. The Bengals really wanted to unleash the two te offense this year, while keeping Hewitt at fullback. So I do think the Bengals will try to keep him. If he leaves it will be because he is the one who wants out IMO.

I have a buddy who is a good friend of a Bengals Assistant coach... He says Gresham is 80% out the door already...and that's not by Gresham's choice. It's because he's seen as a guy that isn't maturing mentally or physically as they had hoped. Guess we'll see soon enough.

Well obviously your friend is more in the known. However I just see him being a lot like Rey M we all thought there was no chance we sign him back especially after he looked so bad in the playoff game against the Texans. However the coaches liked something about him. I just think we will see the similar thing here of them trying to keep him.

They will only keep him if the price is right... He hasn't been making many friends amongst the coaching staff.

At least that's what I've heard, granted it's second hand.

As much as it pains me to say, Rey is playing just about as good as anybody right now. He has played better than I have ever seen him play. It would be hard for me to root against Rey M right now. We need him desperately in the moment! Just my opinion!

Sunday's debacle doesn't help Gresham's cause. A very selfish and disrespectful thing to do not on Lapham's account but Marvin's. You know what would happen if I went into my Boss's office during a Bank meeting and complained about a Bank's Service Charge?.....You out of here baby!!!!

I agree but two years ago on Rey right now, however the way people feel about Gresham now is how they felt about Rey two years ago.

If this is Gresham's contract year, he is not doing much to make his stock go up. I really think the Bengals will not try too hard to keep him. He is a very good talent, but I don't know if he will ever reach his potential, and he more fits the mold of the Bengals back in the early 2000's. Lots of characters, but not much character.

How do you get an interview with Jermaine Gresham canceled? Throw him the mic.

There is a huge difference between Gresham and Rey M. Rey is a team guy. I don't think gresham is.

While I tend to agree with you on the year(s) thing, I will remind you that missing tackles can be fixed. Getting unsportsmanlike penalties on regular basis seem to be the norm for some as you already know and thats the real issue here. Some things you can fix and others......Well, You can't fix stupid!!!

On Monday night, Gresham will be one false start penalty or dropped pass away from 10 or 20 thousand people booing him.

Whenever this season closes, it will be time for Grasham to go. He might as well start packing now.

I would be willing to bet Rey Rey has just as many unsportsmanlike penalties during his time. Honestly him and Gresham have been very alike in a lot of areas. Rey though has shown that he actually meant more to this defense than any of us ever realized. Once he came back it did start to help this defense out. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if the Bengals do make a run to keep him if it is the right price.
