My older kids 21 and 19 are getting some money to help them out with some expenses. My son is becoming a Certified Personal Trainer so he asked if I could cover that cost. Daughter just likes $$$$$$$$ dont they all?

 

My 14 yr old Stepson just asked if we could upgrade his Laptop for gaming purposes and my little girl is 8 and we are limiting her gifts to a Wii and some board games that we can play as a family.

 

The kids end up having so much stuff it is ridiculous. We also pick names from local trees for children that are needy. This is the true meaning of Christmas and that is really what I want my kids to learn.

 

My wife and I agree that exchanging gifts is not necessary. Just a personal preference.

My oldest daughter and son in law just moved into their first house and wanted a Kitchen aide Mixer in the worst way so I got them one (holy moly those things are expensive)

 

My other daughter is in Orlando and just wants money, we were going to get a lot of gift cards for her (Visa, Target, Skyline because there is a Skyline Chili there, and such but she said she would rather just have money) so we will deposit her Christmas present into her bank account. Our son is such a girl lol, all he's ever wanted mostly for years at Christmas is clothes, shoes and a video game.

I asked my son what he wanted me to get my granddaughter and he told me clothes. So, I got 6 of the most adorable outfits I could find, and I can't wait to see here in them! For the little one due in mid-January, I also bought clothes. Since K was born in September, I figure they'll need some newborn winter clothes for O. I also bought K a set of Frozen books that are very interactive, and a pair of Frozen sunglasses. I may find some other little things to add, but my son and his wife are very into her having educational toys and not too much of anything. So, I have to be careful.

 

I bought my sister's son who is 2 a little wooden tool box with a little wooden hammer and wrench and screws, and all that. It came with a bonus, a wooden building set that he can build a wooden crane out of. My nephew is going to HATE me! They're having a son delivered on Christmas Eve, and Jack (the 2 year old) is not at all excited, nor does he mind very well. Oh well, no time like the present for my nephew and his wife to begin keeping a closer eye on him and teaching him he doesn't rule the world.

The Original DLG is getting 2 Sorority (Rent-a-Friend :lol2:) sweatshirts.

2.0 is getting a One Direction book and shirt.

3.0 is getting earphones and a 5 Seconds of Summer shirt.

 

I think we are on the hook for close to a C-note for everything.

 

My girls are into the Boy Bands, the oldest was/is a Jonas Brothers fan.

As you know our Christmas each year within my wife's family is to try to make sure all the needy kids & adults that we provide meals to each day have something to open under their Tree. It's a struggle but with the continuous help and efforts from all walks of life the Henry Hosea House in Newport will again fulfill the wishes of the families and help bring a smile to each and every one of the needy ones out there.

Last year I got him silk boxers. Does that count?! He's 13.

Just bought my oldest nephew a Lego Racer -- looks pretty cool. He's 8 and is big into Lego's, so he will enjoy putting it together...and then it should race.

 

Bought my 8 year old niece a "Sew Cool" sewing machine that allows you to make smaller things. This will be hit or miss, so stay tuned.

 

The rest of the nieces & nephews are younger - under 6. Bought the oldest boy a nerf gun and the youngest boy a Frozen coloring book / art case with markers, etc.

 

The rest of the girls are 4 & 6. I got the 4 year old a Frozen Activity book, and the 6 year old "Twister". I was able to get all 6 of them presents and spent less than $100, so I consider it a win.
