I've pondered the double lane thing too myself trying to decide if it's a good or bad idea, and I've concluded that it does seem to have 3 main advantages.

 

1. Lessons the amount of cars wrapped around the building by condensing them to two lanes thereby causing less of an issue with cars entering the parking lot to park.

 

Disagree. Might lessen by 4 cars. It;s just another bottleneck to me.

 

2. Gets the employees on top of your order sooner making the line go faster.

Absolutely disagree here. I've seen no faster than before honestly. They seem to be hiring more morons.

 

3. (For McDonald's sake) Gives the illusion that the line is not too long making some potential customers not reconsider and go to another restaurant instead.

 

Sorry, again disagree. I got to the speaker before two other cars the other day and still waited as those orders were taken before mine. I also forgot to mention the ever present jumping the line after order given.

I do like the $1 any size Coke or iced tea though. Preferably on the inside of the cup instead of all over the outside as I usually get. (Damn auto fill machines).

 

And oh by the way, those $1 any size drinks don't occur at ALL McDs which is weird.

BK closed because no-one likes their food. You can drive by any BK restaurant at any time, and see no more than 2 customers in the building. They just replaced the one on Dixie Hwy with a Chipotle. It's only a matter of time before the one on Houston Road closes its doors.

I've always liked the burgers because of the charcoal taste and the fact that they supposedly were not fried but charbroiled. Of course I'm an old Burger Chef fan. Was Burger Chef the first to use that charcoal flavor on burgers?

I complete agree, and have no idea why that is the case. You would think that a Coke is a Coke, but for some reason a Coke from McDonald's just taste so much better than from anywhere else.

 

I personally do not like them. I think it has to do with the garden hose for a straw that you have to drink out of.

Agreed...McDonalds is our go to potty break on road trips, you can usually count on them to be clean... not so much with other chains.

Don't use the straw. Take the top off and wrap your lips aroung the cup that everybody in the joint just handled. :lol2:

When I ate burgers, I always preferred a Whopper to a Big Mac or any other fast food burger. My daughter is the same way now. Every time I swing by one, there is no-one there. I don't know how they're surviving.

I see what you're saying. I always wondered how the cashier knows which order you made, and it seems too possible that orders could get out of order. I'm not completely sold on the idea, but just wondering what brainstormin' came from McD's higher-ups and the method to their madness. Could be just folks justifying their jobs just like the moron/s who created Windows 8.

All this talk of fast food burgers made me stop and get one on the way to pay my property taxes today. I went for my go to burger. Wendy's double cheese, pickle mustard. I do not like their fries though. Fountain drink was good and it does not feature a garden hose.

I did. Also went thru the drive thru. Someone once told me they use a higher concentrate at the drive thru since the soda will not be drank as quickly as if in the building?

IMO, Wendy's always has a different taste compared to other businesses that serve Coca Cola, and not in a good way.
