North Oldham has been trying to rally support for a new field. A few weeks ago they were even on the Louisville news stations asking for support for a new turf field. They had to move their big soccer tournament to Collins this year because of the poor conditions. Hey, that gives me an idea, why not play it at Collins? lol I'm just missing football after Thanksgiving this year.

The field at Mustang Stadium may help the home team force some turnovers Friday.

 

The stadium’s field has been in rough shape throughout the season and the snow and rain over the last two weeks have made it even soggier.

 

North played at home four straight weeks before going to Fairdale last week and playing on a field that was also muddy.

 

Meanwhile Owensboro’s first three playoff games (wins over Breckinridge County, Warren East and Madisonville-North Hopkins) were played on the artificial turf of its Rash Stadium.

 

“Now they get to go to our field that’s a little beat up and banged up and muddied up,” Martin said. “That makes a difference running (the option offense) when you’re doing all that ballhandling.

 

“…That still hurts us too on some of the… wide stuff we want to do, but it hurts them more.”

Senior lineman Nicky Ingemi and senior fullback/linebacker Kevin Graham both left the Fairdale game with knee injuries and have spent the week rehabbing. “If it’s at all possible, they’ll play,” Martin said.

Also - there is an article on Portman (DE with 105 tackles)...It basically says he is around 185-190 lbs, quick and a wrestler. The best DE I've seen all year is Holt for BG, hands down.

No way North Oldham loses by a lot. In fact I believe they will win this game and move on to the championship game. Too much offense for Owensboro to slow down that much. You never know how these games go at this point in the season but I think turkey won't be the only bird Rambo will be served this weekend!!

I love to eat so I win either way. I saw some clips of their previous games, looked at their schedule, and trying to compare them with OHS speed. I have a hard time seeing north stopping their speed.

Billy Martin. He has been there since 06. Prior to that, he was the HC at Henry County.

Why does Heckenburg (NO QB) get so low in the crouch? His but is about 2 inches off the ground! How can this be good?

No Owensboro fan is predicting a blowout. Owensboro has been in a number of tough games but hasn't really blown out a top team. Clark and Beasley are both speedsters and will be tough to contain. I do think this will be a tough game for North Oldham as well, their toughest test since CAL. I hope both teams stay healthy in this one and I'll say Owensboro 28-21.
