If they really want local teams in the finals, they need to figure out a way to have the games in NKY...

Build a stadium with artificial surface that holds around 20,000, locate some game sponsors, like Russell Athletic and bid on it. :ohbrother:

I would dare say if they would ever put a turf field in at Commonwealth Stadium the finals would move to Lexington.

The complaint about Papa John's was that it is too big. So, Commonwealth is in the same boat.

Commonwealth is way too big but I'd be more apt to randomly go to Commonwealth to watch the finals than BG or Louisville. 45 minute drive.

 

 

Having been to the finals in Louisville and BG the finals in BG is way way better and it isn't even close IMO.

I still say Georgetown college is the best place to host the finals. Best stadium for the games.

Great except too small, average per game attendance of around 7000 at BG...some with much more.

If 5000 seats is correct, it is just way too small.

Parking at Commonwealth would not be an issue at all. There would be no issues there.

You're probably correct I was more pointing out that because it's at UK many if not most would overlook any perceived deficiencies.
