I believe Williamsburg will win, that is if they don't let their fans blow them up too much. The only thing I heard their fans talking about this weekend was how glad they were that Corbin lost and that they couldn't wait to play Mayfield again.

Coach Herron has done a good job of not letting this team hear all the noise, I was a little concerned before the Hazard game but after that performance this team will not over look anyone...

Actually, I believe that Coach Salmons does a good job of keeping them grounded. This Raceland team doesn't seem to get too high or too low.

I may have just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. The people I know and are friends with from Williamsburg were pulling for Corbin, at least for the most part.

 

I have thought all year that Williamsburg was on a mission to atone for their poor showing last year, which I believe was a combination of a great Mayfield team, a deer in the headlights syndrome and possibly they were kind of satisfied in just getting there.

 

I hope they stay focused on one game at a time, although it could be very difficult for the kids not to look ahead just a little when they are so close to their goal.

Well you can always rest assured too that the County wide officials will pull for both teams, dream scenario one trip and get to mingle with two separate voting ends of the county.

I was pulling for Corbin. They had some good kids on that team and coach Haddix is a class act. Give coach another year and I predict Corbin will make a strong showing at state next year. In my opinion, I it's the parents who stir the whole rivalry thing up because the kids hangout with each other and most of them at one time or another have played on the same team with each other.

What was the score of the Williamsburg/Mayfield game last year? When Fairview advanced to the championship gzme in 2012 did they have to beat Williamsburg to get there?
