Good thing they aren't playing Male, huh? I would expect Meade County to have confidence....current state runner-up, and have beaten 3 very solid teams to win Region 2 (two on the road).

This was more in response to a Green Waver calling our D "Porous". No matter what team I was with, I would of course be confident if I made it to the semi-finals, it's a heck of an accomplishment to get this far, only 4 teams left.

I have no dog in this fight. In fact, my dog got shot on Friday night:facepalm:

Meade County went to the State Championship game last year and Trinity didn't.

Trinity played a much tougher schedule than Meade County this year.

SO WHAT....

None of that matters. I look for Trinity to completely shut down Meade's offense. Can Meade do the same? I think they can. Where does that leave you? Kicking game and turnovers. I don't know either's kickers. But you win here and you win Friday.

Good thing they play the games.............said Graves County.

Trinity is at another level of football, but for Meade to be in this position and to make it into the finals last year speaks volume. I still pick the Rocks to win, but will not be surprise either if the Meade gets the upset.

Does this mean you think Meade is also on another level of football?

It's always a little intimidating when Trinity comes on the field with enough players to stand shoulder to shoulder from end zone to end zone (or so it seems)!!

NO! I really meant Trinity.

Re Hamilton Field, why not have a capital fund drive to rebuild the stadium, emphasis on artificial turf, larger visitors section, and safer seating all around ~ if there is empty space under bleacher seats that a smaller person could accidently fall through. Don't laugh, there are a lot of high school stadiums that are lawsuits waiting to happen. And since artificial turf can be set up & used regularly for any sort of field sport, not just Meade Co but community groups would benefit. Since Meade Co has such a loyal following, it shouldn't be that hard to raise $300,000 to refurbish the ol' place. Sure wish Male and Manual would do something about their wretched venues.

However, X also hung 35 points on Trinity in their first meeting, so...

Um, I think it was the second game that was the gut check.

It is called GENERAL ADMISSION for a reason.

If Rocks fans aren't welcome on the home side, then charge the home folk the regular price & the Rock folk 25 cents.

The MC visitors side is small just like most HS fields. Most visiting fans have to adapt when they travel with their team. I would think that attempting to establish a Trinity section in the MC home bleachers would be in bad form in this instance. There is one HS in the county so it's kind of a big deal. Historically, MC has not had much love for the privates (to say the least) so I would doubt that the administration is going to bend over backwards to make the Trinity faithful happy. (Nor do I think they should.) Hamilton Field is an awesome place to take in a HS game in November.

I hereby invite you to my home for Thanksgiving dinner. We are having a succulent turkey, wild goose, ham, homemade dressing, gravy, steamed green beans, potato casserole, down home biscuits, fresh cranberries, some pretty nice wines, and wait til you see dessert. That's for us. You get a baloney sandwich, which is what you are feeding us here. And like I said, wait til you see dessert, cuz that's as close as you get, seeing it.

I like standing as well. Ask PepRock...I'm not a good sitter at a football game...AT ALL!

Speak for yourself, kid. I like class places like Ryle, St X, and Bowling Green that have big stands on one side and small bleachers or none on the other: they set aside half the seating on the good side for visitors. As I said, class.

So what's your problem with the privates? You said it; now you have to supply details, to say the least.

Do you know who the first football coach at Meade Co was?

Do you know who the first football coach at Meade Co was?

Wilson Sears he was coach from 1966-1972. He started the football program and finished with a record of 47-26.

That says a lot.

1) When there was a proposed public/private split a few years ago, it was Meade County's superintendent leading the charge in Lexington at the annual meeting.

2) Meade used to, although has relaxed it recently, that it couldn't schedule private schools in any sport. Then was changed that it couldn't play AT private schools (didn't want them making money off Meade). Finally got rid of it all together, I think.
