All I say keep thinking the team is one dimensional...we have been the underdogs throughout the playoffs. We scored 27 on Scott Co #2 in 6A & 30 on Central Hardin #3 in 6A. Don't know why everyone thinks throwing the ball makes u a good team. Bryan station lost because they didn't have any defense or running game. Every college & pro team wants to establish the run.

 

We got robbed at the championship game last year and are headin back to the state semi again this year. Back to back regional championships...I bet a lot of teams would like to be one dimensional like us...

 

Our defense compliments our offense and vise versa. The defense won the game against Henry Clay..The offense won the Scott co game. The offense had the ball for 22 minutes in the 1st half against Central Hardin. Our passing game supports our running game.

 

I am not saying that Meade County has a bad team. Just that Meade County is one dimensional. You said it yourself in an earlier post....."we pass the football when we have to". That is what a one dimensional team does.

 

Why fight this description of your team? It is accurate. It does not mean Meade County can't win two more football games. What it does mean is Meade County can NOT get two scores down against a team like Trinity because your one dimensional offense is not built to play catch up, in my opinion.

Just to make a point, Meade County won the Henry Clay game because a dropped punt snap gave them the football with about a 25 yard long field with about 4 minutes left in the game. The Wave offense was able to get it in the end zone. Henry Clay stacked the box all night and really outnumbered Meade County at the point of attack. The Green Wave offense was listless all evening because of it being one dimensional.

 

That was a great goal line stand at the end. But, it wouldn't have even happened without the punt miscue creating the short field.

I give MC all the respect in the world. They wouldn't be in this game if they did not deserve it. Have no idea how strong their last 2 opponents were but beat them both - @ their place???

You are right the price is general admission, it allows you admission to sit in the visitors section.

Your comment was "Their offense is one dimensional and very limited. Their passing game is rather primitive. Their quarterback is a good athlete who they count on to make plays." I have no problem with our running game. What I was talking about was your description "very limited" that's not accurate based on putting 27 on Scott and 30 on Central Hardin. I'm sorry that we haven't had to come back from being down by 2 TDs very often this year.

Wow...Well I guess you don't watch a lot of football. Mistakes is what usually determines winning & losing at all levels. Actually the punter was pressured all night and that's what you want he was worried about the rush causing the mistake. That's great special teams play.

 

Our very limited offense still had to march down 40 yards and SCORE..which we did!!! Henry Clay had 1st down and goal from the 1 and was stopped..great team win the offense did its part and the defense closed it out. Henry Clay stacked the box and we still won.

 

I guess Trinity and X are also very limited because the score was 9-3 Friday.

At the beginning of the year...we had a lot of two way players. but not as many now. Especially on the line.

You don't make it this far unless you are pretty good. Trinity is playing it's best ball right now. It sounds as if Meade is also. That said, it is never a good idea to pick against Trinity this time of year. Trinity is playing for its 13th trip to the finals in 15 years under Beatty. 12-0 in Thanksgiving weekend games. I think that the speed and strength of Trinity's front seven is the difference. Make it 21-7 'Rocks.

I think Trinity will have a hard time getting much offense going against a stout Meade Co defense, but, I think Meade will be equally challenged against T's defense. I think we're looking at a very low scoring game, something like 14-7, 7-0, 10-3 type score with the winning team winning the turnover battle..

Wouldn't bother me if it was just a 1 point win - as long as its the ROCKS.

Interesting that with all the success of these two programs over the years, this will be the first ever playoff matchup between the two.

It's the first ever meeting between Meade Co and Trinity.

The level of competition has plusses and minuses. If you play a strong schedule, you run up against a lot of smart coaches & rough teams with tradition. You also get the snot kicked out of you. Trinity has had to patch up more than a few guys. Their QB got a concussion in the 2nd game against Indiana Carmel (playing this week for the 6A title) & was out a couple weeks. Other guys have been whacked pretty hard. But that happens too when you play a light schedule. More likely tho when the opponent is stacked with D1's. On the plus side, at this point you are combat-ready after a tough schedule. Five of Trinity's out-of-state opponents are in the title hunt: II-AA Ensworth-TN (would be 5-peat); 6A Carmel-IN (lost in 2013 title game 7-6); 5A Indianapolis Cathedral-IN (would be a 5-peat); Div I Moeller-OH (3-peat in works); 4A Cocoa-FL, going up against a top Florida team. A 6th outta stater lost its quarterfinal Saturday to a top PA team.

Good grief! What are they going to do for the Trinity crowd. Are Meade Co games well attended? We may have to take any spare seats.
