To answer your question, I think it was more of Trinity's defense. Trinity has been playing very tough in the box for a few games now. X's longest run, as I recall, was on a reverse. X got virtually nothing up the gut. I like the way Trinity's defense has been playing now that they are healthy again.

T did have 2 players in the defensive secondary play tonight who missed the first game.

Not discrediting the d at all, but was it more of an unreal rocks d or anemic X offense(sigh; time and time again). Or a bit of both?.. Sad for the X defense when they play great all night and can't get any help from the offense.

-15 yards on the ground doomed the Tigers.

The Shamrocks head to Meade County for their fourth straight road game in the playoffs.

Great game but no offense from X. I liked the numbers Coach G put up.

Glaser wouldn't have been smart enough to kick the field goal on 2nd down.

Congrats to my ROCKS! Defense was awesome! Offense was sluggish. Did enough to win!! I hope St. X quarterback, Houck is OK! Great kid! It's tough to beat Beatty's ROCKS twice in the same season. Road trip to Greenwave country will be fun! Bring home #23!

Fourth playoff game ever between Trinity and St. X that ended with the winning team scoring single digits. Anybody remember these other three?

1974 - St. X 3, Trinity 0

1976 - Trinity 3, St. X 0

1997 - St. X 3, Trinity 0

For all his hype taking over the reins at St. X, Wolford continues to prove that he is in over his head. Four games this season of 6 points or less. All his offenses have done is score fewer points per game, rush for fewer yards per game, and pass for a lower completion percentage than his predecessor.

Once again, all I've said the Whole season is Trinity has the Best Front 7 in the State, proved it again tonight... Now that the secondary is at full strength, lookout. This Trinity D will be tough to score on from here out. Go Rocks!!!!!

I have to be honest....that was really brilliant by Coach Wolford.....they needed the ball twice, and they needed time. Might as well get the easier points, and then let the chips fall where they may....hats off to him, for a very savvy call.

I have a crazy feeling, that ALL of Meade County will be there.......we'll be taking the tour buses, this will have a very prime time feeling.

1997 - St. X 3, Trinity 0

This was the coldest game that I have ever been....was home from WKU, and was on the sidelines, it was brutally cold. Neither team could move a yard.......we got the ball late, backed up in our own territory.....Dennis Edge fumbled, X recovered.....we pushed them back, three straight plays...they kick a FG, it's over.

I have felt, all along that this was our best defense in a long time.....sometimes they looked the part.....we are at our best right now....but means nothing without the hardware.
