It really seems like sportsmanship is taking a back seat on the KY high school football fields these days. Aren't post games handshakes optional now? :no:

It wasn't even # 7. Get it right. He tapped the ball inches 3 times. Kids do dumb stuff sometimes. BTW, It was #2.

 

You are kidding right??? The kid kicked the ball several times in that one instance. I was so surprised it took the ref that many kicks to throw the flag. Maybe the kid didn't know it would be a penalty, but it was definitely a bush league move.

Refs were questionable all night, from the face mask on the cooper QB to the completed pass where the ball hit the dirt ( with a cloud of dust flying up) and then calling a completed catch. Horrible!!!!

Cooper played through it and won the game.

Cooper fans, can't you just enjoy the win and stop all the complaining? The Cooper players played with class and moved on. You should try it. No dust flew around Friday when the field was mud. Good grief people. Refs were horrible with calls against the Flyers all night too. Quit all the finger pointing and enjoy the kids big win. SMH...

What happened to field? I thought the field looked good when Beechwood played there last year.

For those on Facebook, Seth Keller from Cooper is nominated for Play of the Week on Fox19's page. They show the second of his pick sixes Friday night.

Flyer QB had a terrible night. He threw 5 picks, and 3 made no sense at all. Bright lights too much I guess. 8 total turnovers and a blocked punt, the Defense was behind the 8 ball all night. Flyer RB's have got to work on securing and carrying the football correctly this off season. Great run after losing a lot of great play makers from last year. Hold your head up Flyers and get in the weightroom. Hats off to Cooper on the win.

 

I have never seen ANY team at any level turn the ball over 8 times and win. That's too bad. Congrats. to Cooper. Turnovers can be lack of concentration and turnovers can be a result of pressure and/or both.

As a Cooper fan I can honestly say that the turnovers were a little of both. I would say 5 of the turnovers were forced by Cooper and 3 of them were just Franklin County being careless with the football. Not bashing a kid but it looked like a few of the QB's reads were wrong. He threw one INT to a DL and 2 to a OLB sitting right where he threw it. Again, it is part of the game and that QB is a talented kid and was so respectful, so I don't want it to seem like I am bashing him. I think it was just one of those games!!

The turnovers were a gift on all but two occassions, the qb was just giving the ball to Anderson it was a tough night for him, hat off to Cooper on the win. Proud of the FCHS defense and special teams making some plays to try and stay in the game.

Cooper was a solid defensive team. Franklin County once again did not look good at all. Looked lethargic as they did against East Jess turnover city. Should be a good game next week against Anderson Co. Congrats Cooper

 

Team was not lethargic at all did you not see the effort and speed the defense played with, as well as many of the kids on offense. Your assessment could not be more off base, maybe a few individuals looked lethargic.

Once you throw a pick or two and you are playing from behind, I think things have a way of snow-balling on you at QB. Especially at this age. Cooper's defense was 'on' Friday night, and when they are, they take full advantage of any/all opportunities.

 

Franklin was certainly not a bad team, I didn't think them lethargic. They MAY have underestimated the Jags, and with their overall size and two blowout losses, I can't blame them for that.
