Who would start such a rumor?

 

I have some ideas but won't post any speculation. I believe Boucher is right and Conway stays. He really is enjoying being at North Laurel and is doing a fantastic job. To lose 7 seniors from the 2004-2005 squad, 4 of whom were starters and all contributed, take over as the head coach, play a very tough schedule, and still finish in the regional semis, ... he's gotta stay.

You just never know.

I just heard that Conway is very interested in the job at Fleming. Maybe Les can fill us in

Ive heard some good things about Conway. From what I hear he may be what Fleming needs

Is Breeden's name in the mix for any high school jobs in the area? Is he looking for a high school job?

I have personally spoken with Conway this week. He is not leaving North Laurel and is very happy with his current situation (kids, school, AD, administrative support, etc). I now have a very good idea where the rumor may have started and believe with 110% certainty that he is not leaving NL.

He did apply for that job when it was open 3-4 years ago and was not chosen. He knows those involved with the hiring and that is why I am sure his name has been tossed around. He was asked if he was interested but told them that he was happy where he was. But in speaking with him (as apparently a load of people have since this rumor hit the mill), I truly believe that he is not interested and is very happy with his situation. He plans on being at North Laurel for a very long time. I am sure they would like to have him now, but North Laurel really wants to keep him.

 

He might have been an assistant in the 16th before. I cannot remember where he played in HS, but believe he played his college ball at Berea.

Conway was an assistant at Fairview and Russell. I also believe he was an assitant at Ashland.

I dont remember him being at Ashland anytime since '94. Assistants have been Walters, Jenkins, Griffith, Blankenship, Baker, Polley, Cooksey, Wilcox, and Whitlock. Im sure I forgot a few along the way...

I don't think coach Conway was ever at Ashland. He did however fit in well wearing the good shade of maroon.
