I imagine it would be a thorn in the side. Most, if not all schools would probably want him on their team.

Highlands offense is on a roll right now and Beau Hoge is playing out of his mind. Actually Beau is playing like I expected him to. Teams are going to need to score more than 35 points to beat Highlands right now or figure out how to keep Highlands Offense off the field. Highlands can quick strike you with 14 points with a blink of the eye. You better hope you have a 3 score lead before you try to eat some clock on them. 7-14 point lead with 6-8 minutes left isn't going to get you a "W'....Beau Hoge is as dangerous as they come and that includes every Highlands QB that has every played. This game will be just like all the other Ashland/Highlands games the last few years. I do hope Baker makes the trip this year.

WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. Friday at David Cecil Memorial Stadium, Fort Thomas.

 

WHAT TO WATCH: Highlands breezed past Boyd County 44-7 in the first round, and Ashland Blazer had no trouble defeating Holmes, 49-14. Last year the Bluebirds beat the Tomcats, 56-6 in the second round of the postseason.

 

This year's matchup shouldn't be much different. Ashland Blazer has a run-heavy offense that relies on the backfield trio of Quenton Baker (1,480 yards, 18 TDs), Jake Long (882 yards, 9 TDs) and quarterback Hunter Prince (439 rushing yards, and 5 TDs). The Tomcats allowed Highlands to throw for over 260 yards and five touchdowns last year, so expect senior quarterback Beau Hoge and his receivers – particularly senior Alex Veneman who is closing in on the state's single-season receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns records – to have a big night.
