Racially-charged tweet on Ferguson shooting to get Texas teacher fired | Fox News

A Texas teacher who posted a profanity-filled tweet over the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. -- telling those who disagreed with her to "kill themselves" -- is being fired, school officials said Monday.

Vinita Hegwood, an English teacher at Duncanville High School, was suspended without pay Monday pending her discharge after posting a "reprehensible" message on her personal Twitter account, according to the Duncanville Independent School District.

I will say this, I'd like to see what she said it in response to.

I see a HUGE difference between a response in kind and an unprovoked message like she sent and one where she responded to something just as bad or worse than what she said (which I'm kind of thinking here).

If I go to a Spurs game tomorrow and go "You are an (something worse than idiot) Tim Duncan. Your political beliefs are stupid. I hope you and your family burns alive." and he responds with "I hope your parents die", then it's kind of different than if he sees me wearing the opposing team's shirt and saying, "Spurs suck, I hope you lose" and giving the same response.
