Meade has a legit defense for sure. Meade is getting healthy and is looking for revenge. Ill take the Greenwave in a slight upset....20-14.

Meade County has a very well coached, disciplined defense. That serves them well, especially in the playoffs.

 

My thought on this game is that Meade County's offense is not good enough to allow them beat Scott County. I just don't feel they have the playmakers to score enough points to win this game.

Scott County starting to play very well now.

What would have been a close game earlier probably will not be so close.

Meade doesn't have that many two way players.

Common opponent-- North Hardin.. 58-18 and 44-37...

I will say Scott beats Meade by 21 or more.

 

And don't give me the excuse that Meade was missing so many players cuz they didn't make the difference of 37 points

Henry Clay beat Bryan Station and Bryan Station beat Scott Co and we beat Henry Clay...so what does all that mean NOTHING....Scott Co might win but I can tell you it won't be a high scoring game. We held Male to 17...Central Hardin to 7 (In regulation) and Henry Clay's offense to 7. Three top 10 team in 6A...and really if not for a incorrect call last year in the state finals would be wearing championship rings. I believe Scott was also favorited in the game by a large margin. We will see Friday.

I am so sick of hearing about the wrong call. That was last year and this is this years team for the both of them. Forget all the common opponents, that does not mean anything. Meade Co only had 166 yards of offense and 80 of that came on the last drive. Both teams have different personnel this year so we shall see who comes prepared to play and then no one will debate it.

You can see where the wrong call still bothers Meade a little. I'm sure Scott would feel the same. But lets talk about this friday. The only stat that matters is the W ..ask Henry Clay. They hard more yards between the twentys than I could count but only 7 points. But I agree about Friday both are good teams with quality players and coaches. I too believe the team with the fewest mistakes wins.

Meade's offensive is as good as any team in the area. So I guess all the offenses in the area are very average at best. What's wrong with playing good defense to limit your opponents to scoring. We had a shoot out with North still won. I would submit any team that allows scores in the upper 20 or 30 will probably lose more than they win.

I fully understand the statement that defense wins championships in November and December in high school football.

 

However, I have seen Meade County one time against a Henry Clay defense that had given up nearly 500 yards passing and 600 total offensive yards against Bryan Station a couple of weeks before. The Waves had less than 200 yards against the Blue Devils last Friday night, including 43 yards passing.

 

Here is the issue. In high school football, it is not difficult to stop one dimensional teams. Henry Clay was able to stack their defense to stop the run because Meade County showed no ability nor desire to throw the football.

 

I think that is their issue against Scott County. The Cardinals will load the box and shut down the running game of Meade County, daring them to throw. Even though Meade County plays excellent team defense, the Cardinals will find a way to score and Meade County will not be able to keep up.

Yes and Bryan Station still lost. Well, Meade really has no reason to pass. Its a grinding, time of possession style of offense. Meade did complete majority of their passes against Henry Clay. We were not a big passing offense last year and we all know who really won. I don't think we are one dimensional, we pass when we need to, why get away from the run if you are winning (9-2). A matter of fact Henry Clay did not pass that much either and I think Bryan Station will regret not having a run game against Central Hardin. If we can hold Male (by far the best offense in 6A) to 17, we can hold anyone.

 

if we give up big plays (which we haven't all year) it will be a long night. We are 21-5 the last two years...we believe in our coaches and players, the recipe is working.

The fact that you gave your Current record of 9-2 doesnt mean much. At one point, the first 4 teams Meade County played had a combined record of 1-24, it did get much better as the final 2 teams Meade played only had a combination of 3 wins. In fact Meade County only played 2 teams out of 10 during the regular season with winning records, stunningly bad competition, average offense that has run up the scores against the likes of Breckinridge County 1 win, Muhlenburg County 4 wins, North Bullitt 1 win, a North Hardin,1 win, Jeffersontown 1 win
