Lost to the 3 best teams they played barely beat the 4th best team they played and will lose in the 2nd round.

Maybe Haskins really isn't the best coach for McCracken.

People keep talking about Manual's depth, they do platoon, however they only played 13 people on defense last night. The same 4 defensive lineman playes every snap.

 

McCracken's lineman all play both ways so Manual has far more depth than the Mustangs. That was my main concern heading into the season was the lack of depth and size on the line and it showed last night. Luckily, we have a Freshman class full of good linemen. With the skill guys we have returning, hopefully that can be the difference next year.

The QB sneak on 4th and a long 2 for McCracken was about as bad of a decision they could make, and the fake punt still has me scratching my head.:idunno:

What does that have to do with the defensive line rotation? The offense has scored a total of 31 points in the 3 games they lost. Learn a little football before you begin critiquing other teams, it makes you look ignorant, and we don't want that.

The only surprise here is it took Manual longer to establish their dominance than expected by most prognosticators.:sarcastic:

6A football and Western Kentucky are not words that will ever strike fear in the power schools from Louisville. It's always nice to have area schools go deep in the playoffs, but I'm afraid the Mustangs will have to be content with being the big dogs down here in the sticks.

If you are talking player specific groups, I think all areas of the state do it. Not uncommon to have regional all star teams, etc.

I do not have any knowledge of the coaching staff outside of this one game watching on old goat radio, however personal fouls were definitely an issue all year it seemed, based on fan comments. Also, McCracken County's offensive coordinator is the one and only coach I have ever heard do the following:

 

It is said that he told a manual assistant coach before the game that Manual had 2 "crappy" defensive lineman and that he lost some sleep early in the week but had manuals defense figured out by Monday and slept like a baby. What coach does that pregame? That says a lot about this character.

 

Keep in mind this same defensive lineman had 4 sacks and pressure all night. And said OC's offense had a total of about 40 yards in second half.

Many threads are on this board for football which I'm paraphrashing have the title " who is best QB in NKY? " Now substitute RB, DB, Lineman, Defense, Offense etc.... While I know it is important and good to give these young men recognition, I just think it paints a picture that being the best in NKY is the ultimate objective.... why not best in state????
