I've seen too many football games to say Dixie's going to the final, especially after seeing their bracket. Yes, they should make it there based on the teams on that side of the bracket but you never know till they play the games. I remember back in 04 when we beat Trinity and won the District, everyone thought we would make it to the final and challenge to win state, only to fall to Boone Co in the mud bowl in the first round.

 

I like this years team a lot. I think its on par with that team from the past, and I'll be sitting in the stands cheering them on this Friday with fingers crossed that we live up to our potential.

 

Dixie is hands down the best team in this part of the state, and that's saying something in my opinion.

I thought that Boone game was the third round? They beat Shelby Co in round 1 and then Trinity (at Trinity) in round 2 before making the dumb decision to go for it from the 5 yard line instead of kicking the FG to send it to OT. Especially when they put the QB with a broken finger under center for the first time all game.

Very true. They also all put up a lot of points at a high level. I'm not sold that SK can put up the points Lafayette will put up but I've been wrong before. Either way it should be an exciting game.

I think we should have a playoff between the two teams that lose to the Top semi teams and they should play the bottom bracket for a chance to play the loser of the top semis for a chance to play in the finals. Sound confusing, yes, it is but the top 3 or 4 teams in the top bracket could beat ANY of the teams in the bottom bracket, that is my point.

I agree, the winner of the top bracket will be your State Champion. 95% of the state's top 6A programs are in the top bracket.
