I agree, now that the playoffs are here it is all about supporting the NKY brothers and hoping that we represent well in the playoffs. Dixie is a better team than Cooper. Are they 38 points in the first half better? Last night they sure were, but Cooper last night is not Cooper. Hopefully Cooper can get well rested this long weekend and get ready for Woodford County. No reason for Cooper to dwell on this game as it is over with and done.

 

For those who are closer to the Dixie program, I have a couple of questions. Who does Dixie play next week? Do you think that Dixie's passing attack will be a concern in the playoffs? Dixie wants to run the ball obviously and their passing game is not stellar but it is good. Just curious if you think that will be an issue in the playoffs? I know one thing, Dixie is big up front, physical, and they run the ball hard. Pair that with a QB who is their best RB and you have one talented offense

Dixie is so primed for a great playoff run. They are as exciting a team to watch as any. I thought when Cooper played SK that SK was the best team in the area, I think it is simply Cooper is not at the level of those 2 teams yet and out of those 2 teams, Dixie is the best looking all around team as of right now.

 

Should be a great run starting next week for them and I wish them the best of luck. Drew Moore looks faster and faster each week. If you are a team playing against Dixie, you better keep him in the pocket because if he gets outside the tackles, goodbye....he is a thoroughbred.

 

Can't wait for next week when Cooper rights themselves in the post season and only the 2nd home playoff game they've ever had. Should be fun and best luck to both teams!

That sounds exactly like Lafayette. I think that'll be a great match-up in the playoffs if it comes to fruition.

I think Dixie's passing game will be alright in the playoffs if they can start with a good running game. We all know that usually the passing game sets up the run game, but for Dixie I think it's the other way around. The more successful the running game is the better the passing game becomes in a game.

I will not go as far to say that Cooper is horrible,, but this is not the team I saw play against Ryle or Scott. The defense that was running around and hungry was not the team on the field. From what I saw tonight was a team that appeared to lay down on their coach. Over and over I saw their coach meet them on the field trying to get them up and motivated and they walked around lifeless. There was one team that showed up to play tonight,, unfortunately for Cooper,, they were wearing red.

 

I asked the question a couple of weeks ago if the wheels on the Cooper bus were getting loose. From the way they played tonight,, I would not be reserving the bus to Bowling Green as of yet. This team does not look primed for a run in the playoffs,, which is a shame because I thought they would be a contender from how they looked at the beginning of the season.

Cooper is a little up and down against the 6A schools, but if they are that bad then what does that say for Scott, Cooper destroyed them. Grant County, Cooper destroyed them , and let us not forget Conner. Conner was lucky it was as close as it was, 10 out of 10 times Cooper would DESTROY them too. So if Cooperis that awful bad, then those 3 teams should just stay at home.

Congrats to the Colonels on the win and the completion of a 9-1 regular season. Way to build on last years legacy of a 7-3 regular season.

 

The Dixie community believes in this great group of student/athletes and knows of the large target on their back after clinching the 6A District 6 Title outright.

This we can agree on, but at the same time, the truth be told, KY football and especially the schools he is ripping do things a bit differently than his Cincinnati brethren as we don't get the luxury of recruiting players as many Cincinnati Schools do. I sure would hope there would be a difference in competition as schools on this side of the river have to rebuild within.

I just said that in my post, if you read it you would have noticed that. Dixie is firing on all cylinders and Cooper is struggling right now, you mix that with Dixie having the better team and unfortunately things like this happen. Again, congrats to Dixie and good luck in the playoffs.

 

Just two short years ago Cooper, with a team full of seniors, went to Dixie, a team full of underclassmen, and put a good whipping on them. These things happen. Dixie starts 10 BIG seniors on offense and Cooper starts 7 juniors, 2 sophomores, 1 freshman and 1 senior on defense as well as 10 new defensive starters. It is all part of the growing and learning process for these kids. I just hope Cooper focuses in and works hard to prepare for the playoffs.

I don't know who said they didn't want to be there, but they definitely didn't show up ha ha. Seriously, I am sure that Cooper wanted to go out and perform well and surprise some people they just played uninspired and ran into a buzz saw right now that is Dixie football. They are on a different level than anyone not named Highlands right now.

After seeing Drew Moore first hand I will say that he's not the most talented runner but a very good one. He is also an adequate passer as all his balls were on target. Passing should not hinder their offense at all. What stood out about Drew was his vision and football brain on when to keep and when to give. He made a few mistakes against Ryle, but for the most of the night when he kept it it was the right decision and led to big gains. He would not get as many yards if he lined up at say, tail back, so I can't say he's a great runner, but in the read option offense he is GREAT! If you can't seal the edge and make him give it ( and you better have two good ML to eat it up if he does ) Drew and Dixie will kill you. Then they will sneak a back out to the flat who will be by himself and the band and Drew can more than make those throws. They have tailored that offense to fit their strengths and are very good at running it. I was impressed, everyone does their job. It' s a hard offense to stop because you have to be disciplined and win your one on ones with them. The first round will be a breeze in the playoffs for them. Then it may be a rematch against SK or Ryle. Couldn't write a better script. It will be fun to watch! (cue UK fan LOL)
