Gray was mostly defense because Murray got most of the touches on offense. Gray was the starting safety from his freshman year on.

Hemple is the best QB Ryle ever had.

For the record, Murray and Gray are great young men above anything else, loved watching them play, all out every play!

Somebody told me he works for Bellevue school district.

 

Saw Derek parking cars at Cincinnati Children's Hospital at the Valet stand last time I was there for my daughter's treatment.

If I could have 2 players on my school's team they would be Fullback Andy Schreiber from the state championship team of 1979. Andy was a sophomore starter who paved the way for Bellevue legendary RB Jon Sutkamp who amassed thousands of yards. He also blocked for Jon's younger brother Mike Sutkamp on the 80', 81' state runner up teams. Schreiber was a starting LB as well for the Tigers. A true 2 way football player who was tough as nails. He is a truly great guy as well, loves his Tigers.

 

The other player would probably be Jon Sutkamp. He is probably the greatest RB to come out of Bellevue. If he would have been in the same class as Andy and not graduated in 1979 IMO he would have broken and kept the state rushing record. I can't even imagine having to be an opposing LB back then and see these 2 guys coming your way out of the backfield. Jon is also a very nice guy who still lives in the area as does Andy. Schreiber has been a mailman in Ft Thomas/Bellevue/Cold Spring areas for last 20+ yrs.
